Oh, I was taking it as everything was done, except putting the headliner in. Gotcha now.

Yikes! My service guys have what I think is a policy of checking for obvious parts availability right when I ask to schedule. I had to have a wheel replaced after I reported a vibration in the front end...right there he went to check to make sure the wheel and the TPMS sensor was in stock before he'd sign me up. I'm glad he did, because I needed the car the next morning.

I had to wait an extra week for my exhaust when my car got fixed last year - so it seems like they are on perpetual backorder with different parts. Prob not making too many more then they need to save money.

EDIT - and I got a package from Canada last night so....?

A week I can understand. 2 months? Hell no. You can't tell me that it takes longer to ship a part than to build the entire car. Also, I cannot for a second believe that they don't have a headliner somewhere here in the US or at worst, one on the production line. This is pretty bad GM customer service thus far.

As of right now, no word from Jeff here on the site. No word back from GM customer care.

I have been waiting for 3 months for a front seat top cover. Mine is worn beyond belief. Unreal how long it takes to get parts from GM. I am pretty poed but what can I do?

Ask the dealer if they have a SPAC case. That will trigger the part to come from the assembly plant if they have none in the parts warehouses.

They are building them, so they sure as hell have them. Someone just needs to get off their lazy ass and handle the situation.

Yep. That's precisely what I'm going to tell GM whenever they get around to calling me.

Is anyone familiar with how SWAT works within GM?

Well, just to clarify. In YOUR experience this is what your dealer does. My dealer is AWESOME and will not quit until I am happy. It's just the way they do business.

Yes, I'm aware of SPAC, but I'm also being told there is something called a SWAT program, which I'm not familiar with.

UPDATE: The dealer opened a SPAC case 3 weeks ago. So the question is why has GM been sitting on their hands for that long? Surely an inventory search takes minutes and then pulling one from the line and shipping it cannot take more than a few days. Grrrr...

Hmm, I've heard of a GM SWOT program, but not a SWAT.

UPDATE: GM called. The woman could not answer the basic question of why this has been sat on for 3 weeks especially given that I understand the SPAC process. I have been escalated. However, the new ship date is July 22nd now instead of the 28th. How curious...
