Trunk monkey and/or motion sensing camera.

No seriously, see if you can convince your wife to let you store it. Would flowers/chocolates help?

That's what I'm hoping it was...just something to ruin my evening/week.

I mean, the guy was in his late 40's to mid 50's....isn't vandalising other peoples' cars one of this things you cross off your "Stupid shit I need to do" list when you turn 20? (no offence to teenagers)

You can buy a security camera(s) on ebay and a camera DVR. The DVR can can handle either 4, 8, or 16 cameras, depending on the model you buy. The DVR records all cameras 24/7 and is very easy to operate....if something happens, just run the recording back and take a look. My DVR is hooked up to a 60 inch projection TV and results in a great picture, and can also be run through your computer. You can buy infra red cameras that you can view in daylight or total darkness. I have a 4 camera DVR with 4 infra red cameras and the setup has been very helpful for the past three years. It sounds like you might be more comfortable with a setup like that. A side benefit is that the cameras also act as a deterrent if they are mounted where they can be seen. Good luck.

IMO the guy was jealous of your car. Jealously can lead to bad things but, I wouldn't worry to much.
Has absolutely nothing to do with jealousy and everything to do with wanting to whip your ass.... Your lucky he wasn't a three patcher or he woulda settled the situation in your driveway however he felt necessary....

If he didn't get out to square off with you though then he was just talking Shit... I would clear a spot inside my garage if I were u and park the ol lady inside for a while. It will throw him off, other than that if I were you and he came back to my house he would turn up missing and I would be ordering a clear vin motorcycle frame off of eBay and I would have me a new bike, lol!

+1

Also, if I had a garage, the Camaro would be in it, and the riding mower would be outside under a cover or in a shed (as others have suggested).

LOL...there ya go!!!

seriously, I would put the car in the garage at least for a week, in addition to keeping a watchful eye for any signs the weirdo is trying to make good on his vague, but spoken threat.

You can get a small security camera/home monitoring system at stores like Lowe's, Home Depot and Radio Shack and usually at any computer supply place.

just my 2 cents.

good luck

Three patcher? I assume that's slang for a biker ganger? We don't have too many biker gangs in Ontario...Quebec on the other hand is rife with them, and this dude was english.

Anyway, it's too late to clear out the garage now (for tonight)...at least if my car gets keyed or damaged in anyway tonight I'll be able to scream a big ole "I TOLLYA SO!!!!!!!!" to my wife and guilt trip her forever.

I got a long USB cable, and a lap top...think I might rig our camera up to record an all night movie just for tonight.

I have a similar setup and it was fairly cheap. I have regular cameras outside on the detached garage, since with the security lights and moonlight the yard is usually well lit. I have an infrared camera on the entryway porch, which is usually very dark. One side benefit of the infrared camera is the red light on it, it draws the eye and anyone stepping on the porch to go inside the house looks right into the camera.
The camaras are open circuit(but since our nearest neighbor is 1/2 mile away, no one can intercept it) they are hooked up to an older tv/dvr. We also have a driveway alarm for our long rural dirveway. It's buried beside the driveway and a bell chimes in the house whenever something metal--cars/4 wheelers/tractors etc etc--crosses the barrier. Its great most times, but has scared the spit out of me when it malfunctioned and went off at 1 in the morning.

When I was younger and living up in the 'burbs, driving my 4th gen Camaro, I was followed home one night. I was always taught to watch for people following me and if someone takes 2 turns the same as me, to take evasive measures. So one night around midnight I was driving home and notice this car behind me. after the second turn and they were still behind me, I bypassed my house and drove out of my subdivision. I then drove back into the subdivision by another road. the car was still behind me, So I KNEW he was following me. I hightailed it back to a busy road, running red lights, breaking all posted speed limits and PRAYING for a cop to see me...wouldn't you know it, no damn cop for 4 miles. I finally got to a convenience store with a few cars in the lot and pulled it and ran inside to call the cops. The guy took off at that point.

One more reason I live out in the boonies now.

I think you probably need to also have a talk with yourself and at least admit that you must have done something wrong to invite him to follow you like that. You might not think you cut him off but if you were close enough to spray him....then you completely cut him off.
