I'd have the car in the garage and the mower outside....if the wife doesn't like it....too bad!

I agree on the garage situation!! You're car is too nice to have outside, regardless of the situation!!

I dunno, it's possible, but he was in my rearview when pulled in. ANd I think I did say in the original post that my having done something to piss him off was a distinct possibility...

Again, it's not like I meant to do it. Don't people give other people the benefit of the doubt anymore...it's like everyone drives around thinking everyone else is out on the roads *specifically* to piss them off.

Anytime when I'm driving and I see someone do something that pisses me off and I start thinking "What a stupid idiot, I'm gonna tell them what-for!" I always pause and think of the times where I had brain farts while driving and I gain a bit of perspective. People make mistakes that 99% of the time were just honest mistakes...not attempts to be dicks and piss people off.

Wait, you have a garage yet the car sits outside?? wtf is wrong with this picture? I live in an apt complex and don't have a choice but if I did, that sucker would b in the garage even if I had to sleep on the couch! An expensive car is far more important then a lawnmower..tell the wife to get over herself. If she wants the mower safe, tell her to move it to her kitchen

You should be worried. People like that are crazy and usually come back. I had my camaro vandalized last week. Some punk teens being a PITA. I'm moving out of this disaster in 2 weeks, not soon enough! Even then I'm going to a carport, not a garage :( Take the threat serious and get that car in the garage ASAP.

well as a woman....sometimes the man has to put his foot down. It's YOUR car. I hate women who flex their muscle and their men just follow like dogs. Your car had a threat against it. Whats gonna happen if this jerkoff comes back and damages your car? Then she's gonna be pissed that U cut this guy off and now he damaged your car and now you have to pay to get it fixed...or the lawnmower sits outside? Pick the greater evil. Sounds like either way, she won't be happy so do the right thing and move the mower outside and the car inside and get your pillow and crash on the couch.

I followed a couple on their Harleys today, the wife on her sporty, the husband on a hawg with big ol' apehangers and their daughter was riding on the back. Wifey took a 55 mph road around 40 for six miles, coulda passed and raised dust, but what the heck. I just fell back, let 'em cruise, gave 'em plenty of room. I spent enough time on my own bikes to know the thoughts that guy entertained for your thoughtless (not that you meant to, but you didn't even think about that you might douche him down). He just wanted to make you sweat, and he did.
Be more courteous of bikers, dude.

I understand....I don't think what he did was right either....but unless you are a motorcycle rider then you don't have any idea how often your life is endangered by some knucklehead in a car on a cell phone or tuned out to the radio.

A minor deal for someone in a car can be a life ending incident for someone on a motorcycle.

Well, my car survived night one of being out in the driveway unprotected. Hopefully that's a sign that the dude was just talking shit.

Yeah, I understand that now. I like to think I'm a pretty stand-up guy and admit fault when it's made known to me...I think the guy would have had more impact with me if he actually stopped and told me (non-aggressively, of course) what I did and why he had an issue with it. Like "Dude, do you have any idea what you did back there?"
Instant respect from me if he did that....instead he handled the situation like a coward by threatening me and then speeding off.

Regardless of what happens, it sounds like the biker won.

How big is the garage? Can't you squeeze both the mower and a car in there? If not, you need to get a small tool shed or something like that to keep the mower in so the car can go in the garage. Not because of the threat, but because the car is worth much more, and keeping it outside makes no sense. Mother nature is the ultimate vandal, and summertime is thunderstorm/hail season. And hot, direct summer sunshine isn't going to do the paint or the interior any good in the long run either.
