Question for those of you V6'ers that change their own oil
So I decided to start doing my own oil changes, however I've looked at this video
http://machinezealots.blogspot.com/2...can-final.html and this guide http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=79739 I could not find any oil plug on the side of the oil pan at all. I even had my buddy check it out. The only plug I could find was at the bottom of the oil pan. I have a 2010 Camaro, did they change the oil pan at all on the V6, or am I just missing something?

Can you take a picture? There's no drain plug on the passenger side?

I'll take a picture tomorrow, kinda late right now and with my car lowered and after market cats you can't see a thing unless you jack it up. Nope nothing on the side unless I'm totally blind..

The only bolt that faces down is the transmission plug I believe. Double check again, it's there lol. I think it's on the same side on the V8s as well.

No offense, but are you sure you were looking in the right place?? If you're seeing something on the bottom it sounds like you're looking at the underside of the transmission. The plug should be on the passenger side, look at your lower A-arm on the pass side front suspension and go directly in from that and you should see a 15mm drain plug bolt head.

No offense taken, that's why I'm on the forums, to learn haha. Anyways, I was under the car right by the passenger side between the two cats

If you are looking between the cats and you have LTs you are too far back. Best way I can tell you to do it is get under the car, find the harmonic balancer (crank pulley) come straight down from there to the front of the oil pan, come around the passenger side and you should run right into it.

Ok after looking at the video again at around time 0:54 you see the oil pan and behind it is another pan which is what I think is the transmission fluid. The bolt I was looking at I believe is the check tranmission level. As noted here (look at post #7)
http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=120571 If anyone would like to confirm this that would be great.

You are only an idiot if you didn't reinstall the plug before adding oil.
