First thing I would do it get rid of that cover, steam clean the top manifold and hoses. Then put some custom covers on hoses and some silicon to replace vac lines.

Nekkid 4 the win.

I was under the hood for 20 minutes at the auto show, and even the LS3 has an amazing mount of access room. I was shocked. You can get to all the spark plugs easily, changing the serpentine belt will be a piece of cake, and if you ever need to change the water pump or an accessory like the alternator or A/C compressor, that will be an easy reach as well - lots of room between the radiator and front of the engine.

Ask anyone with a 4th gen F-bod what they think about engine bay access.
I am glad to hear such positive comments about access room on the 5th generation. Lack of access room was one of the reasons why I never owned a 4th generation Camaro.

The engine bay is too sterile. I'm going to lose the engine cover as well. I like to see the guts.

Yeah, I'm gonna do the same. But I do think I'm going to find a way to dress it up nicely in the future with maybe some real valve covers.

One thing car companies have definitely lost in the modern, all aluminum and high technology age is how to make an engine look right. Engine blocks used to come painted orange, red, blue, or black right from the factory, and cars like the Camaro had great looking valve covers right from the factory.

Now everything comes in plain, naked aluminum.

There is just more stuff up top now so the covers make an easy hide. Before they really didn't have the high tech materials that would not melt on the engine like these covers.

I bet it does not look bad at all.
