Well that is certainly the proper way of thinking. I earned this, I deserve that. You got a freaking Camaro given to you, you didn't put a single cent into it. I'm sorry but the 4.0 GPA doesn't earn you a Camaro and these other things I'm sorry but what other things, hanging out with friends?

I'm 19 and own a house so perhaps I'm bias about hard work cause I do work everyday and almost never have time to see my friends. I'm paying a mortgage, you're going to school, it's your job to maintain a high GPA so don't pull that if you can't do that and juggle a job as well then no you did not earn your Camaro. There are plenty of people I went to school with that had impeccable grades and had part time jobs. I'm sorry but you sound like a typical, I deserve this, I deserve that teenager but I don't know you personally so I'm only going off what I see from this thread.

Your parents GAVE you a Camaro, be grateful for the V6 because they didn't have to give you one.

Nah, your wrong. As a parent, I've told my 16 year old son that if you can maintain his grades in the IB program and earn a scholarship, I will buy you a new car. That isn't me giving him a car, that is him earning one. If he dropped out of IB and into regular classes, he could easily make more money, but that doesn't help towards college. He does work a part time job though and pay for his Jeep with his own money.

You only have to tell them if you want a rider added to your policy to pay for mods in case of an accident.

I think the difference is he probably wouldn't give you the keys back and say buy me something better.

Is your kid in full IB? Just wondering because I know someone that went through that and it is a hell of a lot harder than regular classes. If your son is doing IB then yes I would fully agree that he is working hard enough to earn a Car. The girl I went to school that graduated with FULL IB can recite the full periodic table, the symbols, molar masses, the place one the periodic table, everything. She's earned what her hard work has given her. I'll change my stance on the OP if he is doing full IB if not then I don't really care.

.... And that was my whole point, the OP got this car for Christmas and is now going to tell his parents, who will lose money on the car, that it's not good enough cause he want's an SS.

I never said that the car wasn't good enough for me I am very grateful for the car and I know have not fully earned it and never said I did. We just came back from cruisin' the coast in Mississippi and was looking at the cars there and kinda wished I had something like that. I forgot what I had and got caught up in other cars and not even considering this anymore, and will keep my car forever like I said I would. All the people who called spoiled though don't even know the half of it and should quit assuming things about people, because you know what happens when you assume.
