I need to vent!

Car has been in the shop for the last 2 weeks for a drivers side rear window regulator, back window trim, and the cup that holds the top handle in. Just picked it up today and the only thing fixed was the cup. Chevy sent the incorrect part for the window regulator. They actually sent the window glass instead. Only one side of the window trim came in. The other side is backordered. Needless to say, I think it speaks volumes on why some of our tops have rub marks and issue. They cannot even get a part shipped out right. Then on my way home I put the top down probably for the last time this year. When I put it back up it appears the plastic that goes from the top to the rails came apart on my new top. Not good. Pics attached. And to top it all off while going through my paperwork it is stating that the top issue are caused by lowering it while being wet. HELLO CHEVY, why all the TSB's then for top fixes!
Enough of my rant. Time for a beer so I can calm down. I really hope Chevy comes through with the fixes otherwise I have no choice but to submit my paperwork to the BBB.

Yes...I would be as pissed as you are.

GM sent your dealer the parts they ordered...Chevrolet did not screw up the parts...your dealer ordered the wrong ones.

No, I have the invoice in front of me right now. The invoice says motor/regulator right on it. GM/Chevy sent the incorrect part not the dealer. That is the least of my concerns. This top issue is really pissing me off now. I'm done being nice guy with Chevy. My dealership has been nothing but amazing with how easy all my fixes have been. They even told my caseworker when they called to give him a new car. Friendly Chevrolet in Fridley, MN has been doing the work.

Sorry to assume! Stick to your guns. Nobody should spend that kind of money on a car and not be happy. Glad the dealer is trying for you. SO many cases on here of dealers laying the blame on GM. This time it looks like you got a good dealer.

I just got back from my dealer as my frame now is creaking even during very light driving. They basically said that it's a new issue and there isn't an offical fix...

So I'm waiting on...

GM to ship the correct trim part to repair a previous Tonneau issue...
The dealer to finish their research on the top issue (they refuse to work on it until GM comes out with a real fix)
Coupled with the above is the wind noise issue that they are researching
The dealer to research this new creaking issue which seems to be unique to me so far...

The problem you are having with the top separating from the rail is the same problem mine is in for to be fixed today. The problem isn't the top but the install. The plastic is suppose to be slide into the metal groove on the rail. There is a ridge on the plastic to hold it into the metal groove. Instead of sliding the plastic into the groove the installer pushes it into the groove which breaks the ridge off the plastic which holds this in place. This is suppose to be repairable but my top has been back twice and still not fixed. A GM rep has said the it need to be replaced not fixed. He will be back either late today or tomorrow to inspect the fix.
My advice is to insist that a GM rep tech be present when your car is getting fixed. They really do know how this works !

My dealer has been wonderful. He also just had me send pictures to him of all my issues to his email address. He also will not touch this top again till the complete fix is in. Glad to see other dealers doing the same now. As far as the creaking, my 95 Firebird did that also. It is nothing to be alarmed about but shouldn't be doing it this soon. Nutt I know that is the problem you had but this occurred 3 weeks after the new top was installed. The rub mark showed up way before then. I think the only way to really fix these is to install the whole mechanism from the factory which would include whatever fix they may have done. I asked about a GM tech. Was told they would have to fly into town to do it. If that is what it takes, Chevy better pony up and do it.

OK I need to vent some more before I really blow a gasket. Being that my car was outside for the last 13 days and it was raining tonight I thought I better go out to the garage and check out my interior to see if it remained dry. Nope, back seat floor passenger side was soaking wet. Looks like a call to the dealer in the morning to get this noted on an invoice.

Bird, not good - sorry to hear.

Sadly, there's no other new car out there that I would want to own or drive - so I hope my top holds out. Snow is forecast for this weekend, if they salt the roads then the car is in for the winter.

There is not other one for me either unless it was a GT500 but that is way out of my price range. Plus the Mustangs are blowing up transmissions left and right.
I'm really at my wits end with this car. I just want a do over next spring with a new car instead of taking it out of storage, paying for insurance, and waiting weeks on end to see if they can really fix all my problems. I have just about run out of words to say at this point.
