The Tom Tom app in my cell phone has never failed me either. $100, upgradeable maps...it's mine and doesn't hit me for a monthly fee.

They could always turn him away if they don't want his business. If they accepted the offer then it means that it's a fair trade. Free market here people.

You can buy a GPS for a lot less than that. And don't have to pay every year.

lol....the point is, yes I own a GPS. Yes it costs less than what Onstar does. Yes I could do without Onstar. That being said I have used Onstar for directions and it does a decent job, THEY offered the Nav package for free. I was going to buy the safe and secure package anyway as I like the some of the features on it and it saves me 10% on my state farm insurance. It wasnt a question of buying a GPS or not, it was a statement that Onstar wanted my business and did what they felt they need to do to keep it. Guess what, It worked for both of us.

If you can get it for a better price, more power to you. I didn't pay sticker for any of my vehicles, or my house. Almost everything is this world is negotiable. I asked my dentist for a better price on crowns, he wanted 800 a tooth, and because I asked him, he went down to 650. Just for asking.

I dropped my Onstar as soon as it expired, and they wanted to give it to me for free for 3 more months. I took that and never used it. And then I cancelled it. I have a smartphone that does all the GPS directions that I need.

I use the free GPS from google for android and i works very well. I took it on a 400 mile trip to NC and it never took us in a wrong patch. The only bad thing that can be said for it is it didnt know that a major highway was closed for a while but eventually we found a reroute and everything was good. Also it was hard sometimes to get a sat but still great value.

I got Onstar to give me 16 months for 250 for the year. And I had a problem with it this months report so they gave me 3 more months for free so it will run out on me march 2013 should I fell bad about this.

Exactly what I was going to say...
