The manuals have changed but you can still do the relearn method yourself. I have a 2011 and I changed my wheels out the other day. I had to add air and then let air out for it to work.

OK i'M LOST.
![]() I have 2010 model and literally this past Thursday I got "!" and it was for low tire pressure. It happened a few minutes after running over something. While driving I tried reset, but nothing happened. However after turning off the car then back on I saw the option came up for me to have it relearn. I find it weird that you have to get a relearn tool. ![]() Some please educate my ignorance.

You don't need a relearn tool if you have a 2010 or apparently "early" 2011's.
Just pull the manual and follow the relearn directions. If you have a later 2011, that's when you need the relearn tool.

Since I was about due for an oil change, I bailed on the winter wheel swap and had the dealer do it. They charged me $20 to put the winter wheels/tires on my SS.
So I suppose their "trick" worked Of course, the install included the TPMS relearn. So at $60 for the tool to do it myself it would take me 3 swaps to break even on my investment. Since I'm way past doing my own oil changes, having someone else do the wheel swap while the oil gets fresh works for me.

My 2011 built in June says in the manual Section 10 page 64-65 Step 5, Place the relearn tool against the tire sidewall...... that sucks. I just did my 2010 Silverado last week changing the air for nitrogen. This is really backwards. I still might as well try using the method for my truck on the Camaro and see if it takes.

I'll probably still end up buying the tool, a relative just bought a Cruze and they have the same issue with relearning TPMS - so it will get used twice a year by each of us. |

But get this, I make sure I ask the dealer about the relearn, and they say they took care of it...so I thought...Second time I took the vehicle out after the change I get the "service TPMS error". So I'm guessing they didn't do the relearn correctly. Now I wish I had the stupid relearn tool so I could fix it myself. Hassle to head back to the dealer for a 2 minute fix during a work day... So I'm going 180 and recommending that any late model year 11's and beyond get the relearn tool and take care of it yourself. Sonofabitch!
