I don't recall the actual race (getting old) but from the look of the video he lost traction.

Ps.
I lost to a 12.99 a few weeks back, I ran a 14.0XX. I lost by .3 seconds. I don't have a video but the slip is here somewhere. Goes to the point that the tree plays a large part in a grudge race.

LOL!

I'm actually running the video camera and my friend Jim is driving my car, running against our friend in the Mustang! My car was 4 days old and I let Jim make a pass in the car... And yes, we teased our friend mercilessly about losing to a V6 Camaro! The Shelby forum guys threatened to take away his Man Card! LOL!

Good runs with the 6 banger! But a "purpose built race car" running 14's lol, come on man! His cammed small block still makes less horsepower than your modern 6. It would take him heads and the right induction to make comparable power to you. Your car runs pretty good for a 6, but that was puppy kicking about like me running a 2v 4.6 (which I have plenty).

I see your point, however, at the time I could only hear the engine, It could have been a modern crate engine for all I knew (or for that matter all we know now). that chassis is cheap, abundant and light weight.

It had skinnies up front and fat slicks in the back, seems like he had a purpose when he put all that stuff together.

It's kinda fun to watch this thread, during the commercials, while watching the walking dead. it's like a new walker pops up from time to time...

I've read the thread about 20 times over and laugh more each time someone with a v6 gets offended. Anyone that has raced prior to the 2000's and built and worked on sbc's knows the deal. Have you ever been around a sbc? Built one, have any clue on what parts it takes to get one into the 300 + hp range? Thats whats funny to me, you guys act like it's a castrol funny car over there.

If he didn't want comments, he shouldn't have posted up..lol.
Once again good times for a 6 in a heavy car.

The V6 guys getting offended is as funny as the V8 guys running around grabbing their junk making sure it's still there. WHat is your point about SBCs prior to the 2000s....(why the 2000s...that made me laugh)......what are you trying to say? Getting into the 300hp range takes almost nothing....so what point are you trying to make?

Ya, i do think we know better than anyone, what it takes to build an engine to compete. I think we have to endure a lot of crap, until we can take on a v8. Maybe you haven't looked at some of the mod lists on us. There are very few aftermarket parts built for the v6, so it seems to me, maybe you aren't the one who doesn't understand. You all go grab a cam and a set a headers, and think you have the fastest car ever built. Hell, ten years ago you would be that guy driving that caprice, telling the guys in the mustangs2s what losers they were.

It takes internal mods to break 300 hp with a carbed v8, where your engine came with more than that stock. No junk grabbing here, maybe if your so sensative you should have gotten a v8.

I always have hated mustangs, so you are partially correct...lmao. I never had a caprice though. I have built several sbc engines in the past though, and as mentioned above, it takes internal mods on a carbed v8 to get to the power level of you stock. For christ sake, 8.5 or 9.0 compression, 23 degree iron heads, flat tappet cam....that screams performance right?

Once again, Im not thumping my chest, I even said those were good times for the v6. I just think when you post a thread title like this one, you should know more about what your bragging about. If you would have lost to the ghetto wagon whould it still have been posted?

LOL... Maybe that would have been a little longer than ten years ago too. I forget my age sometimes.
