Impossible...to do that would require that cars have an added option code added to identify...which means increased manufacturing complexity...and then they'd need to interrupt the assembly/shipping process to set them aside...and THEN...ship Al across the border to sign them once a month (or else these people would never get their cars)...

Really??? I'd be thrilled beyond compare to have the team sign it ANY day!!!

Think about it...does the date impact the fact that a member of the team who designed and engineered your car...SIGNED YOUR CAR?!??! Wow!!

(And rest assured...nothing is planned at this point, but I think it's a healthy bet there'll be a car signing at the Fest in 2012...I encourage you to drive it up and join us in the festivities!!)

Best way is to meet them at a event or when they come to your town.
As far as signing at the plant itself, its not allowed.
But PM mike judge if you want to get sigs from plant employees mike will tell you the process, but they cannot sign your car itself.

Al's sig would be cool, but I want the engineer that did "The Ring" in 7:42 to sign mine.

Kind of a very cool surprise. It may not have been Al's sig, but it was awesome, nonetheless. I never asked for it, but sometimes you never know what a kind word at the right time might bring in return.

That is awsome, thanks for the help guys.

Message from Mike

Greetings and Congratulations from all of us here in Oshawa on your recent order of a new ZL1 . I'm proud to say i will be very honored to have a hand in building your new Camaro and look forward to seeing and reading all of the new posts as the ZL1's start to arrive in 2012 . As for getting signatures , we as workers are not allowed to sign any vehicle on the assembly line , which i'm sure is a liability issue ( we can't control what someone writes on your new engine cover or shock tower ) . I get asked all the time to sign owners cars , but they have to settle for a signature after they pick up the car .

The only thing i can suggest is you (ZL1 owners ) as a group ask GM do offer some type of option that would allow certain signatures during the build process either within the engine compartment or some type of Brochure that is signed and then put into the paperwork/owners booklet .

One other suggestion , is you send me a 2012 Camaro Sales Brochure with the ZL1 and i will get it signed by some of the Camaro Build Team Members as well as adding your name and ZL1 VIN # when its built . All you need to do is cover the return shipping to the USA ( Approx $ 10.00 )

Let me know

Mike Judge

Maybe they could do something like they do with the Shelby SS's where they hand Shelby a stack of plaques he can sign at his desk, and then mount them somewhere on the car?
