If it were a dual clutch automated manual vs. a single clutch pedal driven manual, then this would be a valid discussion.
I honestly don't know why manufacturer's are still putting torque converter auto's on 'sport' cars.

Hmmmmm maybe because 2/3rds of the cars they sell are autos...

if you are willing to get a tune... L99.. auto... I have a bad left knee. so i had to get a auto... I wish I could have gotten a stick. Its just fun to shift. how ever, I have a tune on my auto. I can use the tap shifters and put the car in any gear I wish and it will stay in that gear till I shift it... So this is a huge huge +

Did you ever listen to the music of a L99 equiped Gen5 with straight pipes while its six gears automatically shifted or while its owner tapped the paddle button .............

Lol, i was about to reply to that post but saw you did. Ya just because the LS3 has more HP does not mean its faster than an L99 stock for stock.

LS3 :426 hp - not enough gears
L99 :400 hp - enough gears to be equivilent to an LS3.

They're both 6 speeds.
Also, the hp numbers above are at the crank. The torque converter takes even more of that away from the L99. To the wheels, there's almost a 50 hp difference in favor of the LS3 M6.
