do not use the walmart patches, they are not safe on fast cars. imagine going 100 on a track and the plug pops out.
go to a real tire place and have them dismount the tire and do a good patch. i think discount tire does them for free |

Take it to a named tire shop, like Discount Tire. I know in Illinois its 'illegal' to drive with that in there. Discount is obligated to remove it and patch it, then sell you new tires with certifications! Lol

When I had a nail in that deep the tire shop took my tire off the rim and patched it from the inside. Cost about $30 but patching from the inside is also the safest/strongest way.
