Your spot in line

I'm wondering if your dealer placed your order on day 1 and my dealer placed my order on day 5 does this mean you pretty much should receive you car before me as long as no constraints and they both have allocation?

I've been wondering the same thing. I'd really like an accurate answer though and not just somebody's opinion. Somebody said that they'll go by allocation number. If that were the case, since I'm 1 of 1 at my dealership, mine should be in the first group? I just figure I'll get it when I get it. By that time I'll have waited for a good while as it is, so a little bit longer won't hurt.

Not necessarily. It depends on when each dealer's allocation gets slotted to be picked up by GM. The allocation slots are issued by GM in monthly consensus periods. One dealer's allocation may not get slotted for months, while another dealer's allocation may get slotted in the first month's consensus.

Here's a good thread on the question you have. http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=179810

BTW, welcome to the forum.

The dealers won't know when their allocation will be slotted until their allocation is actually slotted in the monthly consensus. In other words, since the consensus periods are issued monthly, the dealers find out month by month if their allocation(s), if any, get slotted in that months consensus.

Hopefully he will call and let you know (you may want to change colors or something before it goes in). Ordering for the Nov consensus is Dec 15th.

To the OP... if you are number 1 at your dealer then you should get the first car for that dealership no matter when the order was actually put in unless you order something that is constrained and #2 passes you up due to that.

You also could put your order in on day 1 and someone from another dealership could put theirs in and get it a couple months before yours. It's all about concensus and when the allocation is picked up by GM.

Any body know exactly what these two things in bold mean??f I thought our orders were based on the allocations dealers got. Or didn't get? HUH? DERN!

(1100) Order placed at dealership. Order passed GM edit tables but dealer has not received allocation to place order.

Plus order EDIT by GM is code : 2030 Order Edited by Chevrolet

Call me confused!

Your order is based on the allocation that your dealer was issued. What is not yet known is when (month and week) that allocation is slotted to get picked up for production by GM.
