Anyway, this was your "research" that "showed" these cans were worthless IIRC...
in case you didn't notice, i don't really capitalize anything unless it's a worthy acronym. purposefully ignoring proper grammar and not understanding it are two totally different things.

again, not every post is an attack on you or your opinion. it's to instigate logical and reasonable people to discuss. if i just posted "are catch cans worthless," i would have gotten 10 replies saying "do a search" and then the thread would have disintegrated. at least there are some very good responses about catch cans on the 7 pages worth of responses here.

Well I want to do this to close this case for once and for all. I'd like to do another 4000 miles because I have gotten it this far. But that was almost 3 months of driving. Everyone isn't going to want to wait 3 months for a test. Maybe 30 days?
have not done it on an ls3, but on the ls1 you fed it into your engine and then drove it like a madman for 30 minutes or so. white smoke came out of the exhaust which supposedly was all of the oil and build-up in your engine that was burning. no idea how effective it really was though. looking back on it, it seemed a little silly if you ask me.

But did the job, or part of it anyway. We'll never know for sure other then it drives better and smoother if the engine was really bad.Or tear down the engine

For the intake spray it in there really good, let soak awhile and fire it up. Will be hard to start but just rev it and keep it running,Then spray more in as you work the throttle.
At least thats how I remember it.

I don't have one on my 5.3 Silverado with almost 200k on it and it runs like new

It's more due to the design of the pcv system on any one engine. Some let more oil in then others. I hear the LLT is really bad but guys in 1500 miles or whatever are only catching some oil. Check out pics in the v6 section to see.

But with only 750 miles on the engine and the can is on, I will obviously be seeing how much it is catching. Will put up pics but at only 900 miles a month It will be awhile

Summary / my take on all of this:

Need it / will your engine blow up without it? NO.
Can it hurt to have it / are you an idiot for buying one? NO.

Let it rest.

Sounds difficult to do to work the throttle and spray seafoam into the engine while the intake ducting is on and you are in the car stepping on the gas pedal since it is drive by wire.

Air intake comes off but someone has to help. I forgot about that. the 98 you manually operate the throttle plate at the T/B.

The answer is nothing! Or just have the dealer use top cleaner evey once in awhile!

Oh no, I may have opened up a new topic of debate
