There will be some improvements but not necessarily hp.

Take the SS, hp has not increased, yet, but 2011s got HUD, 2012s got suspension upgrade and Reverse Camera etc..

There will always be some improvements with each new model year, no manufacturer should ever just sit back and make no changes in case they upset the people who jumped in first

I wouldn't get your hopes up on GM increasing the hp on the ZL1. The ZL1 may have got more R&D than any other american car after the ZR1. GM knew what they was doing. The GT500 power has been going up every since it came out. There is allways be someone faster it just depends on how deep the pockets are.

ZL1 will go from 580 to 604 or something like that. But have no actual change, just certification.

Just my opinion of course.
I thought the LLT v6 was first and replaced with the LFX v6. They are different engines and especially with the casting of the heads and exhaust manifolds.

I agree with this completely and is why I don't think you'll see a bump in power for the ZL1 for the 2013 model year. Throwing more horsepower at the ZL1 would not make sense any more than it does for Ford to throw it at the GT500.

There is one simple solution to fix the issue without even modifying the lsa. GM can simply use the LS9 with a factory rating of 638hp to fix the issue.

Not everybody cares about having more factory hp than the rustang, but some people do. If I was GM, i would keep the LSA standard but for the HP junkies like myself, have a option that would put a LS9 in your ride. That would be badass

One problem ... 650>638. It still won't have more power than the GT500

If Chevy gives the zl1 more power they will probably have to change the engine designation and specs because the ls9 has forged everything and the lsa does not. And at some hp point the engine internals are going to go and gm will have warranty claims.

Do you really think GM had no idea Ford was going to announce a major HP increase for the GT500?
I would also believe that GM would not come out with a LSA for the ZL1 that was already maxed out on it's HP and Torque knowing the horsepower wars were in progress.

Have faith. I'm willing to bet that GM has something ready in their back pocket to counter anything Ford is ready to announce.

And what happens if you wait for the 2013 bump, then there are rumors about another bump for 2014 ?
Or rumors about a Z28?
You'll drive yourself crazy always worrying about what will be new 'next' year.

Corvette has existed for 4 years, now with no HP bump...Camaro for 3. Why is it assumed there will be a HP increase on the ZL1, which remains-to-be-dethroned?

With all due respect to all....I think we are making something out of nothing...use caution with how far you take speculation...
