A friend told me a story about remote with a stick.

His B-I-L tells him how he installed a remote start but didn't install the neutral switch. "I won't forget."
As they are leaving the party he says "Watch this!"
And the truck sparks up and drives through the parking lot and across a street and runs into a fence where it finally dies.

I will just use the key.
YES YOU CAN.....
And the new setup is very safe & easy..CompuStar and several other have a newer system.

Love the onstar app. The guys at school have fun playing with it lol. Also I would never ever put a remote start on my M6. Not worth it. If it got messed up and something happened to my baby I'd be going to jail for murder. -_-

From what i was told every A6 comes with remote start already installed. If you did not order the option you have to buy new key fobs have keys cut and get the dealer to reprogram to enable it.

Not 100% certain on this but, it is what i was told by the service adviser when i brought my wifes car down for a seat belt recall issue.

I don't believe this is accurate as I asked the guy who installed mine if the module and ignition override were there already. He said no and that it was one of the most difficult vehicles he had ever installed a remote start on.... And they've been in business for twenty years.

If you have the remote start your car is already locked when you start it.
You have to push the lock button first then start right? Had it on my 2011ss, my 11 Z71 has it and my wifes 09 malibu have it. When I go to get into any of these the doors are locked.

Not sure. Thia is what i was told. If you look in gm accessories it is only a wire and a plastic cover for $115. Then new key fobs and reprogram. This is a very simple procedure using the gm kit. That leads me to believe it actually is already in place just missing the wire.

LOL! I suppose that the thousands of us Alaskans who have manual transmission vehicles are just buying from non-respectable companies then. These companies that make our autostarts include Clifford, Viper and Compustar to name a few not to mention a nationally recognized and reputable installer such as Auto Trim Design. Ignorance is bliss I suppose; no neutral lock switch required...
