iPod/PDIM issue
sorry if this question or something like it has been previously asked on this forum, but here's the issue I'm having:
I keep my 5th Gen iPod nano hooked into the PDIM. If I have the iPod playing when I turn off the car, one of two things happens when I start the car back up. About 30% of the time, the iPod will pick back up right where it left off. About 70% of the time the display will read "indexing iPod" and it will start playing the first song on my playlist. Needless to say, I'm sick and tired of hearing the intro to the same song nearly every time I start my ride. I've heard about this problem with older iPods and heard that there was a PDIM fix that needed to be installed on some of the 2010 Camaro's, but I have a newer (seemingly compatible iPod) and my car is a 2011. Is there a setting that needs to be changed somewhere? I'm confused because it doesn't happen every time, just most of the time. And I haven't been able to figure out any sort of pattern for when it re-indexes vs. when it just continues playing the last song. Any ideas? Help would be much appreciated.

No, there's no setting. Many of us with 2011s have had our PDIM updated with varying degrees of improvement. Best thing for you to do is just search and read the threads about the issues others have and then decide for yourself if it's worth taking to your dealer to ask for an update.

Having the same fricking problem with my 2010. Bothers the crap out of me too. Especially when I have to search way down my playlist for the song I was just listening to. I'm thinking about switching out the entire deck because of it.
