Exclamation ideas on which muffler (brand) or (type)

ok here's the deal...
i have some long tubes headers, no cats, x-pipe, no muffler
and its super loud as hell..
i want some good high sound but just a little bit less ( like turning down the volume just a bit )
what should i do?
get some flowmasters? ( which one's )
i really dont want some hi flow cats.

here are some ideas:
get only one muffler with 2 inlets and 2 outlets and put it where the
x pipe is or;
get the two mufflers and put em where the originals where.
any ideas/opinions would help alot..
thanxx

I'd go with Super 10 Flowmasters since you like it loud, but just a little tamer. They are the one chambers, kind of like slicing a 40 series in half perhaps.
Post # 20 on this thread http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=173055 has some good info on them. They are small and I believe they are available in stainless. Good luck and post pics when you decide!

I would go with the ARH Axle Back Muffler system. I hear usually 10 different exhaust systems per day at work, I still like my personal SS system over all of them. It has a great idle tone, loud WOT tone, and AWESOME cruising tone. No drone at all on the highway.

Oh and did I mention we also went 9.87 @ 137.5 on a stock bottom end using the entire American Racing Headers full street exhaust system (2" LTs, 3x3" High-Flow Catted X-Pipe, 2.5" Axle-Back)

I currently have the Super 44's welded in - they sound good, deep and with your set up it would still be pretty loud. The 44's are similar to the 40's just a smaller case I think. I had 40's on my GTO, a little different tone from the 44's but different engine, different cars also. From what you said though, the 1 chamber 10's might do the trick.

I'm going to tell you the Super 10's are going to be loud as hell as well.

I have them.

Cherry Bomb Extreme Muffler Cat Back if you like it loud. I like the sound better than the Flowmaster 10's and oddly enough they are not annoyingly loud but when you ask them to be, they are awesome.

Pop in a mid muffler, Magnaflow and Solo Performance both make a nice mid muffler with a true X-pipe design inside. They will quite things down some without effecting your sound much.

CamaroKid300 – Are your 10s louder than the Outlaw Axle-Back kit for the Camaro?

Somewhatdamaged – You’re right, the Super 44s are a smaller version of the 40s. Did they fit well for you?

Ricky11SS – Do you still have most of the stock exhaust by the rear differential? If so, something like these Outlaws might be a great option.

If you’ve modified the rear exhaust, and you want something aggressive you may just want to check the sound of Super 10s or the Outlaw mufflers by themselves.
