Ya and even though they aren't illegal in your state I believe they can right a ticket for police interferance. Is it true there is a company that if you get caught speeding using there radar that they will pay for it?

Hell yea they are effective. This is one of those things you get what you pay for. IMO the Valentine V1 is the best. This thread will prolly get moved into the electronic section. But you can find many threads on this. On all the systems and peoples opinons. |

I have stayed with the Escort line of detectors over the past 20-years & very satisfied on their performance - I currently have the Redline model & it's far the best I have ever owned
Worth every penny!

I have a Valentine one with the blend mount w/ invisicord on my rearview mirror. Super clean install and it has saved my butt many times.

Don't get a cheap one, these are one of those things that I have found the more you spend the better you get.

I was pulled over in my Lotus a few months ago while running an Escort SR7 hard wired to the car. (if you didn't know where to look, you couldn't see it when standing outside the car.) I was the only car on the street at 8:00 AM and he had his motorcycle physically parked on the center island between two trees while he was using his radar as a point and shoot. He hit me doing 40 in a 30. I pulled over, shut down the car, kept my hands on the steering wheel and asked for his permission to reach into my pocket to get my wallet. After he gave me a hard time for speeding, he asked me if I had a radar setup in the car due to how quickly he saw me slow down when he gunned me. I laughed and showed him, then he laughed and let me go. I find that 99% of the time people get tickets it's because of their attitude during the pull over. It won't get you off every time, but being nice and reasonable never hurts. Come on guys, you know why you're getting pulled over. @ the OP: if you have the cash, I'd recommend an Escort 9500ci. It out performs both the Valentine One, which has done a pi$$ poor job of innovating/advancing the technology, and the K40 by a pretty wide margin. If you have a budget like the rest of us, I'd recommend the 9500ix, which I believe Double D Mods, a supporting vendor, has on sale right now.
