Jannetty JRE Tune

Here's my experience with Jannetty. (No marketing plant. No foil hats here)

I am not out to set any records. I just want a car that runs clean, strong and is reliable. Mine is a Vortech supercharged, street and occasional track application.

First, I considered dealing with a couple of local shops, but I didn't have time to check them out. The more I read about JRE, their experience and their email tunes, the more attractive their email program sounded.

Eventually I contacted Ted, and he offered up several options. He detailed four stages within my power range. We talked a couple of more times, and I decided to go with his email tune.

I detailed the mods of the car, what I wanted to see change, and emailed him the current tune. He did his thing, and sent me a new tune. As I hoped, the JRE tune went right in with no hitches. I have some data logging to do yet, but car definitely runs better. Throttle response is way cleaner than before, and the car still runs strong.

Had it not worked out, plan B was to engage one of the local shops for their dyno tune. In fact there are at least two really good shops within an hour drive of me, and I will eventually deal with one to do a cam, etc.

But one really nice thing with the email tune was I didnt have to wait for a bay to open up before any work could begin. Nor did I have to shuttle back and forth. And my car never spent the night in someone else's shop.

Of course everybody's situation is different, and no one believes one size fits all. But my JRE custom tune worked out great for me.

The downside - it cost some money, it may not be perfectly dead on unless you strap on a dyno and datalog.

Hope this helps you decide which side of the fence is right for you.

I can definately say I'm real and work seven days a week in a shipyard to afford a car that I have always wanted. I was wanting to give Ted and the crew praise for along time now. I would like to add to my experience with JRE. I have installed all my mods in my garage with the aid of several calls to Ted. If theres someone else out there who provides the same customer service that JRE does, KUDOS to them. It's the way business should be conducted. I'm only 40 years old, and I have been working on cars since the young age of 14. I spent four years restoring a 1973 Charger from ground up. I have countless horror stories of dealing with vendors and so called speed shops. Once they get your money, "your on your own"! Oh ya, I really hope that was a joke about me being a plant for JRE. I have another story to tell those nay sayers out there. I recently ordered a spare coolant pump for my supercharger through JRE. Chris (parts GURU) advised me to order straight from Magnuson to get it cheaper. Wow, amagine that, a company that is honest, and tells you the truth. Say what you want spending more money ordering through them, but know this, they have a customer for life! And to those reading this post, yes my advice is FREE.........

Haha, of course the "plant" reference was a joke, more so on me than you. Seriously though, take your number down. The internet has no shortage of crazies.
