Withdrawal

So its been over 6wks since I put my baby away for the winter. I am seriously going through withdrawal here. My avalanche just isn't the same. and we haven't even gotten enough snow to get the snowmobiles out.

Spring just wont come fast enough. What do you guys and gals do to help forget about not being able to drive it.

Yeah i know i could get winter tires and rims and drive it but really when i have the truck why take a chance on some idiot who doesn't know how to drive sliding into my baby on the snow and ice.

Doesnt bother me at all... they just sit there, waiting for nice weather. I only like driving it on nice, warm days anyhow. Any normal day the Honda is just fine with me.

There is no good answer...this is my second winter and I have passing thoughts of selling it due to the cost of owning this great car that I only drive 3-4K miles a year. I rationalize that it keeps some miles off my truck. I do take it out every 2 weeks for a 5 mile trip weather permitting.

Just hooked up the battery tender and closed the garage door. Once the salt is gone, sometime next March, I'll open the garage door, take off the battery tender, and go for a ride.... to JRE for gears....

Damn if I live up north I would spend the winter in the garage putting on mods. You get to still enjoy the car while putting goodies on that you can enjoy come spring. If its nice outside and there isn't any snow/sand/salt on the road just take the car for a quick drive around the block or something. I find it hard to believe the roads up there are impassible from December to April. And if that doesn't help - move! We have jobs in West Texas

No problems leaving it off the road here in Rochester NY. Unfortunatly there has been salt on many roads up here since before Thanksgiving. Mine was put away as soon as the trucks were out salting. For me I am able to get through it by thinking how I never have to worry about the terrible corrorsion that salt brings to our cars in Western NY. Don't get me wrong I miss driving the car but it will make Spring that much nicer!

Withdrawal is good for you and good for the Camaro. Just think how awesome it will be to crank that bad boy up in the Spring when it's all nice and warm and sunny! And you'll have less wear and tear and crap on your Camaro!

I don't know from Wisconsin but here in Colorado we get nice days in the 50s and 60s sometimes for weeks during the Winter. So when it snows the Camaro goes in the garage for a week or two and out comes the 4x4 but then once all the snow is gone and the roads are clear out she comes! They don't use salt or sand on roads here - they spray a magnesium chloride liquid down.
