Guys with headers... first of many header questions.
I just ordered my catted 1 7/8 kooks long tubes Friday. What are you guys doing about the plugs and wires?... are the stock ones fine? should the plugs be regapped?
As for wires... I know there are many brands, but is there one you guys would recommend more than the other? Thanks

Stock plug wires are normally okay with Kooks. No need to play with the plugs. Aftermarket wires will give more clearance, and look better. I used to run MSD on everything, but lately, I have found the Taylor Thundervolts have a better design fit better, and don't require bending the boot like MSD.

I've been running the stock plugs and wires with Kooks 1 7/8 headers for over 2 years with no issues. My car also runs like a bat out of hell. |

I guess the wires would be more of a looks thing... then again I can't remember if you can even see them with the engine cover. My car has been in storage the past 5 months, so I have not looked at it in a while. Do you have your kooks coated?

Check out Padre's build thread. Wires aren't just for looks.

For those basic bolt-ons the stock wires are just fine. You really don't see them with the engine cover on. Personally, I wouldn't speend the money on those for now.
As for coating.....I have it and definatley recommend it if you want your headers to look nice and pretty for a long time. If you're even remotely on the fence about it, do them now before you put them on. It's alot easier to do them now rather than decide later you don't like the looks of them un-coated (they'll turn a purplish/yellow color) and then have take them off again and send them to get coated.

Aren't the Kooks stainless?
I've got a seton order and didn't think the coating was necessary.

For looks.....it is necessary.
Here is a set of used ARH (but any Stainless 304 will do the same) before and then after coating. Once they are coated they will maintain that look for a very long time.
