fanboy fail....that's a new one.

Ford is notorious for gimmicky features to draw buyers attention away from the real important stuff. Not that the "other stuff" is lacking....but it's the equivalent of putting a glass "diamond" in a solid-gold ring.

This is a COOL feature!! But be honest - where's the practicality? How will this help make the car faster, better when staged next to say...a ZL1? It won't. To that end, I agree completely with Motorhead -- and to take it a step further...I don't think Chevy needs to "answer it"...they've invested in things like HUD with G-meters, shift lights, and nearly as many chassis control gizmo's as a Ferarri.

Different solutions to the same problem, imvho. No sense in getting bent out of shape over it.

EDIT: That said...anything Ford can do, Chevy can do better. I'm sure if it makes sense to invest in...they will. But not "because they have it". They are their own company...building their own car.

I may have come off a little harsh I know this is a Camaro site, but fanboys irritate me. Not fans because duh I'm a fan too, but fanboys. I mean people who can never admit that a competitor has done something good and act like their car was touched by Jesus himself. There's a lot of that on this forum (which is to be expected) and sometimes if I read C5 for too long the annoyance builds up and a post like that comes out lol. Sorry if I sounded like a prick

It's okay, I suppose...you did sound kinda short.

I don't find over-enthusiasm to be a bad thing, though. It can lead to a real fun experience in a given enthusiast community.

Besides, if Ford has to stoop to this level to try and beat the camaro they must be really worried.
Lol, thought i saw another thread about this today.

2) The 5.4L engines are hand-assembled at Ford's Romeo engine facility and then shipped to AAI to be installed in the GT500.

3) The cars are NOT built by Ford and Shelby. SVT designed and engineered the vehicle as the replacement vehicle for the '03-'04 Cobras of the previous generation. The internal name for the car was "Condor". The cars would have been produced as Cobra's if not for the fact that Ford and Shelby reconciled their past issues and, as a brilliant marketing move, struck a deal by which the "Condor" would wear Shelby's name and GT500 moniker instead of being released as a "Cobra" Mustang.

4) GT500's never see Carroll Shelby's Las Vegas facility and not one part on the GT500's is anything other than what is produced by Ford Motor Company.

5) GT500's are not tuned by Shelby, they are calibrated by Ford just like every other Mustang produced.
Thanks for the info....I appologize if I'm not completely up to speed with Ford products.

Gee wiz people.

I just remember thats how it was back in the day.

I'm all for the ZL1 and the camaro ,but you got give credit where credit is do. The GT500 sounds awesome and looks great. Both are subjective, that's just how I see it.
