Cool...THought about doing something like this. I live in North Richland Hills so very close to you. Would love to hear. Mind me asking round about cost on something for this entire install. I have not started my stereo venture yet but want to soon Looks great

It is better to keep BOTH batteries the same size, type, etc when connecting in parallel like you have (unless truely isolated which nobody does anymore). One battery will slowly pull the other down and eventually trash them both. Not as noticeable on daily driven cars but it is still not good overall.

I own an audio shop and see it all the time. Most just want to add an extra battery for the power and overlook the details (which is usually much easier, cheaper, etc). I am in no way degrading your install just offering suggestions. I would go ahead and buy another Blue Top and that way you have a matched set which will give you way less problems on down the road...

You'll like those subs. Put an amp on the BA's for an intermediate step, but trust me, get the splits to match your subs...your ears will thank you!

Don't know as you need the second battery, though; it's more another load on the alternator than anything else in most cases.

**** ah- Todd post-ninjad me while I was tied up! ^^ good information there, too. ^^
