Okay Let's talk helmets. I am being asked about them & I don't know the answers. How about helmets for street motorcycles. Do they count? For instance, I have a brand new one. (I read in another thread about helmets they can't be too old). It has a DOT sticker on it. How do you know what kind to get, where to get them............what do us newbies need to know?
It looks like 4 of our club members (well 3 clubs, several of us are in all 3) are already signed up to help. ( RubyCamaro, SparkyDL75, KYCAMAROSS, GMteSSted) and a verbal vrom Camaro54. I have sent out messages to others & we are having a club meet of the Music City Group Sunday. It is likely we will have more (there are over 14 of us signed up to go to C5 Fest by a quick scan of the sign up list). There is a good chance our club(s) can work together to do a shift. I will let you know more after our meet on Sunday. How many workers are in a group?

I have been looking at a lot of websites and there are tons of helmets out there. I am sure there are members out there with suggestions and recommendations.
www.saferacer.com This website appears to have an excellent selection and a few of the SA2010 and SA2005 are either closeout priced or on sale right now. My concern is wanting to try on a helmet before buying one.

Need to know the drag strips helmet requirement as well.... make certain everyone meets minimum required for both, if they participate in both.

I don't have one either, and really don't know much about buying them. My old motorcycle helmet has the Snell marker just under the rear padding. Haven't looked for a helmet in years.

The difference between a bike and closed ****pit helmet is fire resistance. The Auto helmet liner material is more fire resistant. A 2005 SA helmet or newer is required for insurance reasons.
