yeah its extremely gentle. when people open it up them selves they tend to over power it , assuming it is a weight lifting contest and open it way to hard

thats why i like to be asked to operate the doors my self when they ask me to

Go for it , just make sure you have talented installers and are certified by the state or county. Also make sure they have insurance .

Oh and you should be the one to open the doors.
People tend to get carried away and use to much force.
Also never ride with them up , it will disalign them.

this is Just some advice for all c5 members wanting to have it done.

Also, some kits require cutting. When it is time to trade the Camaro in, it may hurt your resale value. Unless you sale it to a private party who is looking for doors.

the vertical doors inc kit is the best on the market for quality and install.
they state its "direct bolt on" but there is some fender shaving involved.

also, the door does not open all the way like stock, it only has one "pop" not the original 2. its more than enough space for any one to get in.
you dont have to open it upwards every time neither, which is best part of of the kit. it opens like a standard door (minus the extra space) and can open vertically

Sux beat me to it... (ref Dion "Kal Corp ") looks really good in person. Better (IMO) on a coupe, but still nice on the verts...

Theres someone in Cali with a group buy- $900 including install, the company has authorized installers nationwide... dunno all the details, but its definitely a good deal if your in the market

I had the Vertical Doors Inc. kit installed last Friday, and love it so far. It works great, and they aligned it well. They cut the fenders really clean as well and that's key to a nice looking ride once the doors go vertical, especially for car shows. I just started a thread with a video of my car and the Vertical Doors Inc. owners car (C6 Corvette). This video will show you the visual comparison of the vertical doors (on my car) versus ZLR doors (on his car).

Here's a link to the thread:

Thanks again kevlarking13 for getting the great Group Buy going (it's $900 installed, which AMAZINGLY cheap)! If you're on the fence about buying this kit, now's the time with the group buy. The thread is in the "California" section.

Not to hi-jack, but has anyone thought of possibly doing the lambo doors, with a pop-out remote and shave the door handles? Or even just pop-out remote and shave the door handles?

I love the Vertical Doors and I did the install myself

But even with Cutting or rolling you can put it back to stock and never know.
