The analogy to a fighter jet is not appropriate.

As you point out, just because a pilot may charge a fee to take someone for a joyride in a fighter jet doesn't mean that the fighter jet can be legally used for commercial air travel. In fact, a fighter jet cannot be licensed for commercial air transportation. Therefore, a fighter jet can't legally be used as a commercial aircraft. Just as a vehicle that can't be licensed for street use can't be a grocery getter. For, example, the new 5th Gen COPO Camaro can't be licensed for street use and, therefore, can't be a grocery getter.

However, a 5th Gen Camaro SS and a 1970 Hemi 'Cuda can be licensed for street use, and, therefore, can be grocery getters.

I think you actually went towards it was "designed" to be a grocery getter".
I don't know alot of 400+hp cars that the manufacturers designed just to be grocery getters. You can also say they designed it to sit in a garage un-driven, since people do that too.

Clearly, the 5th Gen Camaro wasn't designed exclusively to get groceries. I think that the 5th Gen Camaro was designed knowing that the majority of its use would be on public streets, and knowing that most of the time it would be parked, inside and outside of garages.

I'm confident that one of the design requirements was being able to transport items other than only people in it. Since it has a passenger seat, a back seat, and a trunk, it seems reasonable that people would use the 5th Gen Camaro to transport groceries and other items, and that its uses wouldn't be limited only to high performance applications.

I never said any of that.
You said a "camaro is a grocery getter" because it's used as one even if it wasn't the intended use.
I say you're wrong because it doesn't matter what you use tools for it's their intended use that takes precedence. The SS was built for drivers not grocery getters. Whehter you do or not is irrellevant, whether you go on the track with it is irrellevent, you don't have to take a car to a track to drive it the way it was designed to be driven.

Wrap my analogy with symantics but it's the same as yours.
You can also use a bus to get groceries because it's licensed to be used on the street doesn't mean it was built to do groceries.

Of course you can deny it all day.
Thanks for the backup. Most people who know me are aware of how much research I do on my build so I deal in facts not .

That's a 90hp. difference from a ZL1 it can't be denied much deserved respect simply because one prefers another vehicle over the other.

Pretty expensive grocery getter I guess eh?

It's a high-performance racecar scaled down for street use as is the Camaro SS+, ZL1, GT500, Boss 302, Challenger, et al. Nobody needs 400+hp. to visit their local Loblaws or Provigo. But, if that what you wanna' do with it that's up to you.

I want one of those double Nurum Burgers from GM. Perhaps, with a side of coleslaw, and a poutine to boot, washed down with some Pruit'ofia'.

Dudes' never gonna' get off on that one.

Just hope this doesn't happen. Too embarrassing......
