Evans waterless coolant...?

Seems like a slick idea & "life of the engine" product that never needs to be topped off or changed. Seeing that our motors are aluminum and prone to damage by water/coolant blends this looks like a good long term way to go.

Anyone out there try the stuff?

What are the odds that if you changed to the Evans coolant, that GM would void your cooling system warranty?

We tried this in some equipment at my last job, it actually made them run cooler! Nothing else done to them just the swap. If this helps anyone who is thinking about trying it. Been in my duramax for 2 years no issues so far

I use it in my race car, it works good. However, there is a "catch". There can't be any water in the system at all. You have to thoroughly flush the system, otherwise it isn't any better than regular coolant.

They have a flush to use before adding their coolant. http://www.evanscooling.com/products/coolants/prep-fluid/

I have witness first hand the corrosion that is caused by water based coolant. In one of my previous car with an iron block, I did a complete flush and installed a new radiator. There was so much orange gunk which I believe would be iron oxide (rust) in every nook and cranny that it is impossible to get it all clean....ever....the car only had 100k miles on it.

I'm not totally up to speed on the Evans Waterless coolant. From the readings I have done the up front cost is much higher, but the people that have switched had nothing bad to say.
