Getting 12 city / 20 hwy in my boosted 426 Hemi (12lbs boost) and expect the same or close to that in the ZL1.

The enhanced drive-train in any car with 500+HP plus the fact that you just can't keep your foot out of it, contributes to a lack of efficiency in a boosted car.

Don't care though.....price of admission for the fun factor!!

I'm getting 13 and change now in my SS, so if I can get 11 or 12 I'm good with that.

Since mpg is relative to driving habits, etc., the best comparison for me is relative to my 2010 SS L99. My avg miles per hour for a tank is around 37 with a mix of city and two lane highway. The L99 stock averaged 20.5 mpg after break in. Modded (intake, LT headers, Corsa, and JRE tune) it averaged 18.5 mpg.

My first tank on the Z was 16.6. The next was 17.6. And it looks like it will end up settling at 17.5 - 18.0 under the same conditions. Not bad at all considering an additional 130 -180 HP.

I have driven 1085 miles now, about 60% highway and 40% city. The average MPG over this duration is 17.4 MPG (US gallon). That's keeping it under 80 mph and 4,000 RPM as specified for break in.

My ZL1 is still on its first tank, the point to all this is...

My situation is nearly identical. Only at 770 miles, though...

I'm noticing, with each tank (as I reset my avg mpg at the station), the fuel economy rises slightly. First tank was low 14...

Just came back on a 479 mile trip. I hit 1,500 miles on the trip and had a short burst of triple digit fever and a long Mtn. grade. Average for the trip was 20.1 mpg by the DIC. I did not calculate it by hand.

Only 349 miles..... getting behind you guys! Been too busy.
