It's crazy to me just how fast people are running these things and how quickly you're all getting there, given the minimal mods and incredible weight you have to move. I'm down in South Florida and my company is doing some carbon work for Redline Motorsports, so I've been fortunate enough to see some of the development first hand. Like I said, the pace is incredible. (and I'm sure it's the same for you guys, mad well as other shops out there trying to crack these things open.) Car arrives on Monday, gets flogged on the dyno and at the track for baseline numbers, then comes back to the shop Monday night for a round of mods to be installed. Then it's right back to the track on Tuesday. (I'm exaggerating, of course, but you know what I mean.) As an aside, I still can't believe the Redline Car is running 10.20's in this heat. (we're already seeing high 80's down here in hell. ) IIRC, they were seeing those times with a DA around 2000 and untouched heads. (you didn't hear it from me, but when I was there last week I'm pretty sure I saw some ported TVS 1900's on a bench with some other billet witchcraft hanging around. It's a good time to be a ZL-1 fanboy. Ha!)I think I need to sell more carbon to buy a ZL-1.

And for the haters out there: if you can get YOUR cars in the 9's for under $10k, let's see it.
So far as I can tell, the formula is a cam ($3000 with hardware & install)smaller pulley ($100), ditch the stock air box for a bigger "CAI" tube ($500) headers ($1800 with install-ish), a tune ($500), and in the case here with Livernois, a set of ported heads. (maybe $2000-3000???) *BOOM* low 10's to high 9's. I hate to call $10k or less a "budget build", but that's damn cheap to go that fast in a car with less than a month on the streets. Especially when you consider the damn thing weighs TWO TONS!!!

You've made a claim that theyre plenty of LS9's and LSA's that are making 20lbs and more with the 1.9L blower. Even though the LS9 doesnt have a 1.9L blower! You said it not me. I twisted no words around. Those are your ignorant words not mine. Take responsibility for them. Since you made such a ignorant claim i have called you out on it. Now you want to act like you dont have to educate me on something your actually very ignorant to. Its a cop out. You will not prove it cause you CANT! Boost has A LOT to do with the size of the blower. If you throw that tiny 1.9L blower on a 427 do you really think its going to be capable of making the same amount of boost on a 370ci engine?Hell no!! You can only spin a blower so much. The 1.9l blower can only move so much air. The 1.9L blower will max out at much lower boost than say a 4.0L blower! That is why im TELLING you there is NO 1.9L blower making 25psi on a 6.2L engine. You sir said yourself that this thing could be making 25psi for all we know. Well im telling you from what i KNOW its impossible. Also from what i KNOW i said the car would be making 15lbs, and guess what?! I was spot on. Now let me call you out again. Im saying i KNOW what im talking about and you dont know ANYTHING.Now prove me wrong and show me a 1.9L blower making 25lbs on a 6.2L engine. It really doesnt surprise me that you werent quick enough to catch this but the 1.9L blower on a Top Fuel was SARCASM. Also just because youve owned both cars doesnt make you an expert on them. Its just means you have more money than brains. Obviously. Sheesh. |

Great job Livernois!! Rick, do you really feel like the long tubes with stock cat backs is helping with the bottom line (hp) enough to offset the cost ~2k. I assume this baby will still pass the emissions tests when all is said and done?

Just amazing. 9's are just crazy for a car weighing over 2000 pounds. I just don't understand how anybody can trash a car that halls the mail like that. I have friends that have spent alot more on mods than this and aren't even in the 10's. I for one am impressed that I can spend a little over 10K and be running high 9's to low 10's. I am probably going to be looking at Livernois this fall. I have one question. If the car is running this fast will you be offering a roll bar as well?

I assume you will have this car at C5fest, with a full cage, window net, seat belts, engine diaper, and battery shut off, so you can run it legally
