Not disappointed at all with the quick release of the 2012 convertibles. I love mine for what I've got. Was not worried about the value part as I got a smokin hot deal on it.

It did suck a little only having the latest and greatest for a few months instead of a full year, but you get over it.

Having owned both model years, I can say the changes to the 12, though modest, are very nice and probably should have been included on the 11 from day one. I mean 45K for a car and you don't get a fully powered passenger seat seems a bit absurd to me. And as far as the steering wheel goes, I'm going to have to go against popular opinion here and say that I like the 12 wheel much better. I found the 11 wheel to be an odd shape and at times would get uncomfortable to hold with both hands. I notice I use the steering wheel controls for the radio a lot more on the 12 wheel than I ever did on the 11. I think it's because they're turned in a little more on the 11 because of it's shape and I found them rather difficult to manipulate in that position.

-1 on the steering wheel redesign. The other updates seem pretty nice.

The only thing I really wanted from the '12 was the rear-view cam. But I like the steering wheel on the 11 and the guage differences are subtle but better on the 11.
The wheel on the 12 looks like the one on my Traverse. Nice, but the 11 version is better and unique. Power passenger seat would have been nice.

Ordered mine the day I could order it knowing it would not be available until Febuary or about Halfway through the model year.
Production stops on model years in July or August so they can roll out the next model year in about October. Knowing the above I was never concerned with a short production run, in fact preferred a limited number of cars be available, and any loss in value doesn't matter since it's a keeper. Any paper loss in value doesn't affect my wealth or what I can or can't afford. |
