First...no one from GM ever promised the LS3. We only speculated due to...agh...I could go on w/ tons of reasons. But, LS3 was most likely the engine to be used...priced same as LS1, is the (in a very respectalbe way) hand-me-down from the vette, etc, etc...

I don't know if this has been stated, and I seriously doubt fbodfather would mislead us by telling us to forget about what we know about engines in suggesting an engine slated for production in the second or third model year run (Gen V). What I think he is telling is were getting something new the FIRST year. (please give me a yes or no on this fbod, no details necessary
) So, hopefully we can assume this is a revised 6L not just the L76, it could be the direct decendent of the LS1. I'm not good at naming GM engines so isnt the LS8 left over? lol. Anyways, its not like the L76 doesnt have potential if its retuned for performance anyways it is still a 6L after all.

fbodfather, also remember what has been said by many people working on this car: it is impossible to please 100% of the people 100% of the time. Unfortunately, there are those people who think the world revolves around them, and if something doesn't fit the perfect picture they've created in their heads, they feel that they have been deeply wronged and that the producers are poo-poo heads who are just stupid jerks. There are also those who will never be pleased with anything. They exist to unconstructively criticize and complain 24/7. Nothing will ever be good enough, and they will let you know that in the harshest terms possible. These two types of people seem to make up the majority of most internet forum posters (not here though!) and they are loud about it too. Forget them. They're not the real buying public.
Beedlebrow, you seem to me to be one of those rare exceptions who can express dissatisfaction without sounding like one of those people I just mentioned. I can respect your opinion. Everyone has different taste, and what is beautiful to one person may just not do it for the next, and that is fine by me. Thank you for being the type of person who can respectfully disagree. |

Thanks for the comment.
I am not one of those kneejerk responders with "Chevy sux" ,"Ford sux", etc. I appreciate the cars for what they are. I thought the first year Malibu was great, then quickly went downhill. I was amazed when I compiled a list, just how many Chevy's I've owned. The Camaro, Nova, Lumina, Tahoe, and my wife has the Colorado. I was hesitent to immediately disclose that I drive a Mustang, as I figured there would be that faction that would immediately discount my opinion for that reason alone. I am truly looking forward to this car being in production again. I think the performance on these is going to be sick, but I was commenting on the looks. There is a long time between now and it's actual release, and I'm sure we'll see some tweaks here and there. And there is also the possibility that the more I look at it, the more I'll grow to like it. I come in peace. P.S. BTW, My wife sells Chevys. How could I be a hater? |

Looked over the pictures some more.
It's growing on me already. I think I'm going to have to start saving for a SC so you guys don't hand me my ass so easily. To answer an earlier question, no, I haven't seen it in person. I would like to, but I don't expect to see one up here in podunk until after they are out there for the masses. |

mustang guys get a little jelious when they see that the camaro past and present are goingto put out more power and have better attributes than their beloved mustang. i know quite a few. by best friend is a mustang lover, and my girlfriends best friend and her husband a die hard mustang lovers but the only thing they have on the camaro and me, is " wheres your camaro at, oh yeah its not even made yet". gets kinda old but once i get it i know they arent going to say shit.

I'm sure you hear that, I overhear it myself.
But it's a two way street. Mustang owners get the same grief. Fortunately not from everyone. From what few posts I've read here, I haven't seen it as a typical response. But it is the vocal minority that stands out, isn't it? I own a Mustang, so I guess I'm a Mustang Guy. But I don't believe I fall into the group you describe. Heck, if my wife would let me, I'd own both. It took a year to get her to agree I could get the Mustang, who knows how long (or what I'd have to do), before she'd allow me to get the Camaro. As I've said before, I'm really looking forward to the Camaro being back in production. So says the "Mustang Guy". |
