You must be taking it to Courtesy Chevrolet in San Jose . . . I had them tell me that using anything other than an AC Delco oil filter would void my warranty. Needless to say I'm going to be going to Fremont Chevrolet from now on.

And unless you specifically ask for full synthetic at your oil change (assuming you go to the dealer) you've been getting synthetic blend. Sent from my 2LT/RS using Tapatalk |

Well technically the 2010 v6 asks for a GM 6094 specification which includes conventional oil. Dexos is 2011-up...but anyway I just did an oil change with Mobil 1.

You can not go wrong with a full synthetic Mobile One or the equivalent.

INCORRECT....V6 comes with Factory Conventional Oil...Not synthetic!!! What Kind of Engine Oil to Use (V6 Engine) 2010 Look for three things: .GM6094M Use only an oil that meets GM Standard GM6094M. . SAE 5W-30 SAE 5W-30 is best for the vehicle. These numbers on an oil container show its viscosity, or thickness. Do not use other viscosity oils such as SAE 20W-50. What Kind of Engine Oil to Use (V8 Engines) 2010 This vehicle's engine requires aLook for three things: . GM4718M special oil meeting GM Standard GM4718M. Oils meeting this standard may be identified as synthetic. However, not all synthetic oils will meet this GM standard. Use only an oil that meets GM Standard GM4718M. . SAE 5W-30 SAE 5W-30 is best for thevehicle. These numbers on an oil container show its viscosity, or thickness. Do not use other viscosity oils such as SAE 20W-50 This vehicle's engine was filled at the factory with a Mobil 1 ® synthetic oil meeting all requirements for this vehicle. Oil Flushes Do not add anything to the oil. The recommended oils with the starburst symbol that meet GM standards are all that is needed for good performance and engine protection. Engine oil system flushes are not recommended and could cause engine damage not covered by the vehicle warranty. 2011--2012 I checked the OWNERS MANUAL for both years and all it said was: V6 - V8 ACDelco dexos1 Synthetic Blend is recommendedThis vehicle was filled at the factory with dexos ‐approved engine oil. Also for Oil Changes Dexos and GF-5 oils allow drivers to drive more miles between oil changes without needing to worry about a loss of lubrication qualities, the buildup of sludge, or damage to sensitive emission control devices. Depending on driving habits, oil changes could extend beyond 10,000 miles. While that may be heresy compared to the 3,000-mile oil change interval your local shop recommends, it’s the new reality of oil change intervals. Thanks to the use of in-vehicle oil life monitoring and these new oil formulations, there’s no longer one specific mileage interval to adhere to. In other words, changing your oil every 3,000 miles will likely lead to wasting oil by replacing it before it is actually necessary. Further, GM says that if a customer has an engine failure that is traced to oil or lubrication issues, and if the customer does not use dexos 1 oil in their gasoline-powered GM vehicle, that act alone could void the warranty. The same goes for GM vehicles with diesel engines, which use a diesel-specific “dexos 2” oil blend
