but if true, why is everyone posting every single little issue? then everyone gets mad and thinks GM is producing crap. IT'S A NEW PRODUCTION AND DESIGN!!!!!!! this stuff happens.

but my point is, my 7553 was built on 5/5/09 and at the dealer on 5/20/09. no stops anywhere along the way for IC replacement, or AirBag replacement.......just battery cable recall done.

i looked at the workbench (i have a copy from start to finish with dates)..........right from Oshawa to rail (it sat after rail awaiting truck for awhile), to truck then to dealer...........
These aren't LITTLE issues, they have prevented delivery of my son's car who is home on leave and needs to head back to his base in Colorado next Tues. The dealer has the car in the service area and not on the floor. Hell the car can't be displayed the way it looks.

I'm glad your car was delivered and is DRIVEABLE but my son's car has been sitting UNDRIVABLE and UNDELIVERABLR since Monday. If you think that's acceptable and not worthy of comment you have far lower standards than we do.

I'm glad that you won't be posting about any issues your car develops, but other's may find it informative.

Tom

This is probably why so many cars are in QC, probably a good thing to let them fix it first before you get it. Funny thing to me is so many people post that they want their car and for GM to release them, instead of being patient. Well then these issues come up and people are upset.

While I have been waiting since Oct 13, 2008, like most other people, my car finally got a tpw for next week. I understand the frustration a little but everyone who has ever bought a new model car knows that there are glitches, and everyone know that things happen. So unless you have a signed piece of paper stating that you will receive your car on a certain date then there is no issues, from what I was told that as long as the car is produced by Oct 2009 you are good. Just my opinion

Dealer just called with GOOD NEWS and BAD NEWS. The bad news is they can't get a replacement IC until tomorrow. Meaning the car won't be repaired and delivered until Monday - a full week after it was delivered.

The GOOD NEWS is I asked if the DIGITAL speedometer worked. Turns out it does, it's just the analog speedo that doesn't work. So worse case is the car get's delivered tomorrow minus the new IC and my son gets to drive it over the weekend, then he can go back to the dealer on Monday to have the new IC installed and re-programmed.

So bottom line, the car will be delivered by 4 pm tomorrow.

Cheers

Tom

That is good. Inconvenient to be sure, but as long as the dealer is taking responsibility and doing all he can do, then all will be good in the long run.

I can't begin to tell you how great the dealer (Jack Schmitt in O' Fallon IL) has been. They offered a solution I didn't think they would ever consider - PM for these details.

BTW the car will be prepped and out on their floor by 4:00 pm today if anyone is interested in seeing a ABM SS w/white stripes, high polished wheels and Chasmere interior.

That is good to hear, Tom. At least quality customer service is alive and well in some places.

Things happen when you are building a new car with lots of technology. What we should be focusing on is that GM appears to be dealing with all of these glitches without any hassles or denials of responsibility. Everything I have read leads me to believe that when I get my car GM will fix anything that is not up to par.
