Don't be mad , it takes too much energy.
Take the free stuff and give a bad review.
When they call and ask what happened , i thought we had a deal.
You say "So did i" so i guess i lied , just like you. There's no way i could give you a good review and have you think its ok to treat customers like this.

The sales Manager or owner usually has final say on all deals. Always get a signed deal sheet from them with everything spelled out beforehand.
Just more proof that salesman are worthless especially if they can make promises to guys like the OP, then let off the hook by the man of mystery who the customer never meets....Probably lets them sleep better at night with a clearer conscience knowing they can make deals and promises with customers, but not really have any authority...Nice sytem.

You are wrong. I know not only the salesman but the sales manager and owner of the dealership where I live. When I bought my 2010 Camaro we all talked over the final deal. You cannot make blanket statements about all dealers or salespeople.

Not sure when the car was bought ,

But is'nt Chevy offering the return if not satistied deal , No ? asked ?

If so just return the car and cancel the deal , See if that has an inpact ,

Also I think you have 30 days in most states to return a car , and some they call it buyers remorse.

Our dealer sorta did the same thing , they agreed to so many months , told me one thing and told the wife another , and she signed the paper work , did'nt pay attention to detail , the next day I asked how many months it was for , and she said thats not what she agreed to , went and looked at the paper work , they added 4 more months on to the loan . She called the dealer back up and asked where they wanted the car , it was coming back . because they lied , the salesman said hed call her right back , the owner had to bite the 4 months of payments and she had to go redo the paper work ... so it ended up tax free...Hope it works out for you like it did us...

This is more proof that the only sure deal , is the deal you have in writing.
Everything else is just hear say. This buying and selling is a business. In a business , its what you have on paper.

1. Nothing is for real that isn't on paper.
2. Get your free stuff before you trash their report card.
3. If you do trash them on their report card, make sure you have another dealer to take it to if needed.

Very unethical of the dealer, but you ultimately should have turned on your heels and walked out the door, marched down to the next dealer of your choice, and made a ground-up deal with the new dealer.

I feel for you, man, but if you handed them money then the whole problem was caused by you. I wouldn't let them offer me squat in exchange for a good score. I'd burn them at the stake, so maybe next time they won't pull some crooked shit like that.

I would have gone elsewhere no doubt. Dealerships are crooked, trust me, but there are a couple of decent ones out there.

Oh, and, I'd burn them so bad on the survey it would be ridiculous. Those surveys mean everything to dealerships and anything less than a completely satisfied response hurts them badly. So....give them all bad marks and go from there. No need to lie to protect them after they lied to take advantage of you.

Okay, so basically i feel like i got screwed by my dealer when i was buying my 2SS.

What happened was i owned a 2011 v6 but wanted to upgrade, but only wanted to do it if the prices at least made a little sense. So I found a 3rd party buyer to buy my v6. Anyways, the day before i sold it i went into the dealer, told them my situation, and said i was only going to sell my v6 the next day if the price was right on the 2013 2SS.

So we came to an agreement on 38k out the door on the new whip. They shook my hand and said it was a done deal (two sales men witnessed it and both shook my hand. No confusion. I even reiterated before i left, after the hand shake, that if i sold the v6 the next day i would for sure get the v8 the next day for 38k out the door, no questions asked. Again, they both agreed and said it was a done deal)

So the next day i sold my v6 and my wife dropped me off at the dealership to buy the new v8.

At that point they said they was no way i could realistically get that price, that the two sales men and made a mistake, that i should've gotten what they had agreed to in writing, that it was my fault that i didn't get it in writing, and that i had to pay just under $41,000 for the car. I'VE NEVER FELT SO CHEATED IN MY LIFE. What they did was so unethical, wrong, and insanely bad business. I was so upset. I am buying a truck in the next few months and i wanted a Chevy, but now i don't just because of this. I was PISSED. LIVID!! Argued for over an hour, but i was without a car now since i had already sold my v6 and didn't have a choice if i wanted the v8. I've really never experienced anything so wrong in my life. And i'm a young guy. I've already bought two chevys and will be buying many, many, many more cars in my life.

So now the question. After i bought the car, they bribed me with free oil changes, and a few other free things if i would give them a good review on GM's survey which will be coming in the mail. They told me the good review was CRITICAL to them, and that they would rather not sell a car, then sell a car and get a bad review. I don't really know how greatly a bad review impacts their business, but it sounds like it is a huge deal to them.

A week later they even had another guy call me and said he'd almost give me whatever i want if i put completely satisfied on question 10 and 14 (i believe).

Again, i'm PISSED at the dealership and want to give them the worst review i can for screwing me out of 3k. Should i say screw it, what is done is done, and take the free stuff??? Or make myself feel better and give them the horrible review that they deserve??

If i tell GM the truth will they try to make it up to me in anyway?? Or by giving the dealership a bad review only make me feel better, hopefully get them in trouble, and i'll loose out on some free oil changes and the other free stuff the guy told me he would give me???

Thanks for you input. Sorry for the long read.
If you would like, I can file a case with GM customer service. I will need your first and last name, address, phone number, VIN, mileage and involved dealership. I look forward to your correspondence.

Is everyone supposed to get a survey? I've bought 4 GM cars in the past 10 years. Each time, I was told repeatedly to let them know if I wasn't able to give them completely satisfied marks on every question. But on two of the purchases, I never even received a survey. I've had the same address for over 20 years.

To the OP, you fell into a sales trap - they knew you'd sold your car and lost your bargaining position and they took advantage. You won't ever see that 3K again. If it were me, I'd say 'screw the freebies' and turn in an honest survey.

did you even read everything i posted because it almost seems that you are the only one on here who disagree's... you might want to reread everything i posted... i'm siding with the OP

back in the 80's and 90's dealerships posted the NO HAGGLE price on windshields to eliminate negociating.. remember that?

nowadays you have KBB, Edmunds and TrueCar spilling out all the costs and details... if you arent prepared to buy a car it's not our fault sir... even my wife knows what she is getting into before she makes a decision

I'll keep everyone posted.

You should also consider taking up Brandon's offer here...good luck.

Again, don't let them rope you into filling out a positive survey...as much as you've been advised to "get it in writing", if you give them something in writing (the survey) that you are "satisfied", you'll just be digging yourself a deeper hole...good luck.
