If you tune it yourself, or you have the software with the cables and someone else tunes it, then you put it back in. If a shop tunes it, then they have to put it back in.

Don't quote me on this though, the 2010 Camaro uses a different operating system than 2005-09 Gen 4 PCM's, but if it is like these then this is the case. As always, we will know more as time goes on.

Yep, wait and see, that's how we will learn. We have quite a bit of experience already from what we have done with the G8, so we have a head start, but we'll see what happens.

BTW Comparing 2010 A6 with 97 Z28 the 2010 seems way faster. I put it in sport mode and it really takes off.

I think Gm can tell if you reflash your computer. its all about what you want
performance or warranty ?

or you can buy another computer have it tuned and and pop the factory one back in when you go to the dealership.

Stay posted, I am pretty sure the Auto Trans will prevail, or I wouldn't have bought one for the business for our project... I guess time will tell...
So how did it go at the tracK?

That seems a little strange, I did nothing to my GTO and ran FANTASTIC. The power is not there, we are taking it in this morning I will post as soon as we get it back.

Admittedly the older gens of both cars cannot compare to the tech now, but I have owned a 97, 03, and a 08 and I still have a 65. I will say the 97 did have a few noises here and there, but the Cobra was pretty solid. And yes I know you were referencing the Maro's as well. I had a friends Iroc Z for a stint...yeah that thing had all kind of sounds coming from it.

It would seem that the new Maro's will take to F/I very well. Maybe to well. It will be interesting to see what they can take before the tale tale sound and smoke comes from underneath the hood. You know someone has to try..every performance car out there will have someone who will push the envelope. Its all in the fun !

I am not some diehard ZOMG do not say anything about a Mustang, I know their faults and strengths. I just bring up facts and point out the small things when I see them in threads.

I like cars. From imports to domestics, I like cars. I just happened to like Mustangs the most

For the OP, it really seems he has bigger problems. Somehow I do not think his Maro should be slower than his GTO. If anything it should at least be on pace with his GTO, not fall behind it. break in or No break in. Nope, sounds like this one needs to see the dealer again.
AGREED

You should put your car on a dyno and test your power, plus hook up a diagnostics thing to your computer to read the knock retard. Because my car is 100rwhp less than it should. The computer happened to be faulty and retard timing every time you floor it. Making the horsepower level drop. So thats maybe why you lost

My car goes in this morning, have they fixed your computer yet?

My Car bogged felt sluggish out of the hole and had me asking where is this 4.03 first gear the A6 automatic is supposed to have ?

I got with a local tuner had torque management turned off and WOW this car woke up quickly. don't feel bad you got a automatic feel bad for the manual guys because when it comes time to racing one he better hope he doesnt miss a gear because the A6 won't

Get a tune and that will turn Torque managment off !!!!!!!!!!! Trust me.

A totally different automobile afterwards

Look into it .

I was starting to wonder if I screwed up by getting the automatic….Now im glad I didn’t pass on it

How and where do you get a tune? I dont belive that there are any power programers out yet? After you make the tune, do you void your warrentee?

sad i didnt really follow the break in. i got the car was easy on it on the start then in second i would smash it then let off. got on freeway and hit 110 then let off i only have 450miles on mine it seems fine. did a doughnut got it sideways with out having to rev the motor and dump the clutch. to i am not hard all the time mostly cruise. but alos it tells you not to cruise at steady speeds. motor needs to know where it can max out at, so i think he needs to see his dealer.

Well took it to the dealer and of course they checked the codes and "everything is working fine" They said I could take it to a dyno and bring the results back.

NO! i am so fustrated. The engineers from GM told me that i am the only one of its kind as of now. (i was like great.....wat are the chances) They are testing a new computer for me and redoing the knock sensor sensitivity. SO hopefully when this is all done, i will have a one off computer.

Plus they said they will compensate me for the inconvenience. So hopefully i get something good.
