Anyway are any of the headers worth any real power gains, and how loud does it get? This heavy pig needs something, its just slow so anything has to help some. Right now the camaro is quiter than the three denali's we have which are all stock, and im not 100% sure its not slower then denali's two.. Also im not interested in spending $2K or something nuts on a set of headers.

Anyway let me know what you all have tried and had results with, or should i just say screw it and no worry about it.

Yes it's this simple, order the package from JRE. CAI, Dynatech headers with high flow cats. And a custom tune. Your car will become a different animal. You have the L99, correct? Do this package and you will think you have a different car. Just spend the 2K.

I myself am in the market for headers with high flow cats, I'm just having trouble pulling the trigger because of all the different options. Is it beneficial to get the headers ceramic coated for an extra cost?

Ceramic coating originated in the aerospace industry, where it was used to coat the exhaust nozzles of jet engines. The coating was found to not only protect the nozzles from corrosion, but also helped reduce operating temperatures and increase the nozzles' life span. Adapting this coating technique to automotive headers provides the same results--high corrosion resistance, reduced underhood temperatures, and longer life. Chrome plated finishes look good initially, but will tarnish and turn colors during normal operation. Also, chrome will rust if not cleaned regularly.

Or you can wrap them.

Btw YES I stole this from google

TSP 1 7/8 LT Headers, High Flow Cats and Magnaflow 3 inch Cat Back......Sounds Amazing. In my opinion about as close to old school sound as you can get.

Stitch... that car sounds incredible... but I hate to admit this... I'm too old to drive something that sounds like that. lol

I'm thinking LT's either Kooks or ARE's maybe Dynatechs with the factory dual mode exhaust. Will be just right when I sneak in at 3am from the strip clubs trying to NOT wake up the wife... lol

LT headers are the bolt on that gives you the most power like 30-40 rwhp with a tune. In terms of brands, we sell a lot of Kooks. They go right in from the bottom with no removing the knuckle, steering shaft, or whatever. Very simple, two hour install. If you call us, you will find the price is one of the best out there of all the premium brands.

One common mistake that people make is thinking that headers have a lot to do with the tone of the exhaust. The above car sounds like it does because it has an SW S-tube exhaust, which is a pretty aggresive exhaust. If you put say a Magnaflow Street Series, Corsa, or Borla S-type exhaust behind it, the volume level would be fine for 75% of the customers out there. Likewise, the catback above would likely same the sound with any brand headers.

The rule of thumb is that headers and mids will make whatever exhaust you have 15%-20% louder...but not really change things in terms of tone and rasp. Off road mids are slightly louder, however not as much as people make it because high flow cats any more are very high flow. You can see light through a set of Kooks cats.

So YES YOU are wrong.

Conclusion = FAIL.

Was it ARH where you had to remove the shaft? I swear it was a big name brand, maybe I'm thinking of a different brand?
