I put my $1000 DEPOSIT down in August 2008. I live in a small town on the souther oregon coast. Needless to say, the Dealership in North Bend Oregon that I placed my order thru only sells a few cars a month. Now that's important because the more other cars and trucks they order, the more Camaro's they can order. So it took until 5/26/09 before my order was available to schedule. I got ahold of a lady that works at the plant in Canada, gave her my order#NFHZQZ, she told me it was scheduled for build on 6/22/09. Needless to say, I dont expect to see it in my garage until sometime in late August, hopefully sooner. Its a little unfair how GM does this. You would think it would be first order in, first order out. I am trying to be patient like the rest of you all.

I feel your pain. I ordered my 0-10 Camaro CGM 2LT with polished 20's and silver stripe on 3/30 from Hendrick Chevrolet in Cary with $2,000 refundable deposit.

What is making me re-think my order # NJHX1C is 1) the fact that you can go to AVIS and rent the car - for example: Rochester, NY Airport when I went to Watkins Glen for the race (6-7-09) you could rent (Silver RS) for $64.50 a day. 2) CGM is constrained, yet somebody staying at the hotel I stayed at in Horseshead, NY had one and BTW with the ugliest gray cloth interior I had ever seen. 3) I get a letter from Troy A. Clarke, Group VP of GM North America regarding my interest in a GM vehicle and bankruptcy process.

Hey Troy, how 'bout using focusing your energy to prioritize me, as well as the other 14,000 other customer ordered Camaro's built and delivered. We have at least $30,000 waiting for ya for each one.

Geez Brian you ordered in May and are tired of waiting, I ordered in January. Several others have ordered in October and they are still waiting. The way things are going you will likely get your car before me ha ha.

Order 10-21-08 at 3000 April 23 and have not moved. Still waiting and no longer care anymore. I have now accepted the fact that our car will take 10 months or better to reach us. Done crying over spilt milk.

All good points on your post.

I think the biggest complaint us "R6P" people have is just the fustration of us being 'pre-orders' in hopes that actually means First in-First out. That's what we understood from GM. "Order now!" were the 2 words I saw. Followed by, "Be one of the first camaro's on the road". I mean....What a treat to be one of the first for such a fantasic car ! So I placed my order and I was the last of R6P order at my dealer.

But then seeing all of the April, May, June orders being pulled and in some cases already delivered is what's causing some tension for us R6P people.

Now, before EVERYONE starts allocation / allotment talk, I understand.....I get it.... Trust me...I understand ! But very bad communication between GM / Dealerhip / consumer on this process. In some cases, many question marks above salesman's head when you ask them why your order has not been pulled for production yet. Then to mix in a Chapter 11, to me it seems there's no strategic formula when "pulling" these orders. For example: If dealership X uses their allotment (like 20 orders), fantasic! But GM should say, we will not pull any more orders from you until we get all orgional dealer's "allotments" done. This includes all R6P orders. Another words, everyone wait your turn.

So I'm just saying, it would be nice for the general public to understand this ordering process. I mean we should be able to see the process since the orgional allocation / allotment plan was Federally approved....Doesn't open records apply here ? I know my salesman is frecken tired of me calling and asking him about that's forusre. But I just hope some things gives soon.

Yes, I'm fustrated. Yes, I'm upset. Yes, I think things are unfair sometimes. But that's the way "things" are.

I may never 'pre-order' again, because what did it actually get me ? A set of Ginsue steak knives ?

Note: I know the reason why I'm still at 1100. It's no fault of GM's. There was an issue with my dealership. But it took FOREVER to get it settled - And that's fustrating ! I hope soon my 'R6p pre-order' will get pulled.

I ordered mine 1/31 and I'm at 3000 on 5/11. My dealer is looking to see where I'm at now. I'm wanting to scream. He did try to sell me one on the lot. But, I want mine

I ordered mine 5-9-09. 5 weeks now at 1100. I know that's not as long as the Pre-order guys... but still..... it is so frustrating to see others who ordered just before or just after me already seeing their car move along & in some cases already delivered... while I just sit & wait. I will scream, shout & dance for joy when mine finally moves to 2000!!!
