That's why it's in the "lighting Modification" section. Not sure why this strikes you funny. Are you willing to share or is there something else?

You don't know why I laugh at guys who have never even changed there oil trying to take out halos then bake them in the oven. Let me repeat that. Bake your 800 halos each in the oven then " crack" not my words there's your lens covers. Then" reshape" again there words your housing because plastic becomes mangled after you try to pry open with a screw driver. I mean watch the video. See how "easy" the installer did it. They had to cut the tape and edit it because he had such issues " cracking" open the housing. And if you look on here for non vendor thread. Many many issues with bad lights to quality of what they send out for people who pay extra for them to do the bake and crack. Want me to attach that thread. I'm sure this will get ignored deleted or whatever. I just know from seeing it first hand and also members in my club ore paying for items that still two months later haven't shipped. So yes I lol and wish you guys the best. All for colors in your lights. Lol ok. And FYI it's illegal in all states to drive with blue or red lights on your car.

I put this thread up as a DIY alternative for those who want to modify their stock halo's and/or add trim rings without ordering kits from the big vendors with long delivery times. Total time from ordering the parts to delivery was four days. Yes, I had to create the wiring from scratch, assemble parts and if I messed up, guess what, I messed up. No big deal. I was taught early on if I get in trouble, it is up to me and only me to get out of it.

Some of us do turn our own wrenches and change the oil, transmission, rearend fluids; and actually enjoy driving and maintaining our cars. This thread shows some of the parts that are readily available with a little research and knowledge to create the same Lighting and Cosmetic effect by Doing It Yourself.

BTW: Yes, it is illegal to drive with the red trims on. These were installed on a separate switch so they are only on when I want them, i.e at shows and meets. I like them. As my mother taught me, "If you can't say something positive, don't say anything at all."

I figured as much, but again this is a public forum that invites positive respectful feedback. If your sole intent is to simply be disrespectful and simply slam the folks that are trying to share what they've discovered with one another in the designated areas, then you're breaking the basic tenants of the forum.

I have to say that after reading a few of your posts, this seems to be your MO. There are probably a hundred different ways to make your point without the derogatory tone. Frankly I'm surprised the Moderators haven't contacted you about it.

I'm trying to come up with a parts list on the pieces needed to put these together using the superbrightLED before I make a final decision to go ahead with the project on my 2010. If I go with the color changing LED, is this all I'll need?

A number of the other DIY really recommend some sort of a wiring harness between the lights and the plug, but I'm assuming it's to control the lights from the existing switch whereas this unit would be controlled separately.

I'm probably going to ask a lot of questions even before I decide whether or not do this so fair warning. :o) This is one of those DIY that I want to research all possible issues ahead of time. I'm confident that the project is well with in my DIY comfort zone, but it's one of those DIY that I don't want to find out in the middle of the project that it wasn't.

My biggest anxiety is baking and tearing apart the lights, but I'm "warming" up to it. More so I don't want the lights become misshapen. When I compare the entire light housing to the housing on the rear lens on my 68, there are a lot of similarities except there's a gasket in between the separate pieces instead of silicone. Has anyone found alternatives to separating the headlamp housing? I think it was floated out there to use a Dremel tool but to be careful.

Thanks ahead of time to anyone willing to share their experiences with me on this project.

Not really a fan of the smaller halo personally.. nice looking car though! How is the install on those or replacing the stock halos?

Glad to see folks doing the Do it themselves! Hardest part is making the decision to actually do it!

Did a set of Red Plasma Headlights and Fogs yesterday and they do come out sweet. I like how from 2-5 feet away they do appear more solid than the older style as well. A very clean look!!

It's also illegal to go over the speed limit...and how many people do that?

I'm just saying that because I've been driving with my cyan halos on quite a bit and haven't had any problems. I've also driven past police cars with both the purple and the green halos on and still, no problems. I'm not trying blue or red though!

dont go with those led rings. Its only 5 leds and it will make it look like crap IMO. If you want color changing halos i would talk to flashtech and get their foglight halos. The foglight halos fit around the projector. The OP halo looks like its from flashtech because it has an exterior resistor. And for the install it really is not that bad. Baking the headlights is the way to go. FYI cracking open the first headlight will make you feel like you are breaking something but in reality you are not. I did my install in my kitchen oven while the GF was at work lol. I was all done and mounted by the time she got out. Best mod ive done since i own the camaro. Since then Ive open my headlights up again and mounted demon eyes

Looks really good. Price is right on their color changing package too. $100 bucks. I can't seem to find any directions on their site. Is what's included sufficent enough to get through the job?
