I know somebody who did this. Except, the owner of the vehicle in turn called the police. He got two midemeanors and had to cover the cost of repairs. To top it off, the other owner did not have to pay any repair costs to my friends car. Vigilante justice doesn't always pay.

There is a 2008 Mustang GT parked out side my work that somebody keyed and it also looks like somebody hit it with a door preety hard. I drove my TA to work one night because people wanted to see it after it's full restoration and even though I parked way out where no one ever parks.... next day.... door ding. People do it out of jealousy, think you make more money then them or are just plan A**Holes and that's why I plan on keeping my 94 GT to drive to work just because of that kinda of crap. I surely hope that all of the people around you respect your rides.... good luck out there!

Careful trying to edge it up next to a parking median or curb - sure, a door ding sucks, but if you grind your wheels or snag your sidewall you're going to be that much farther up the creek.

Simple way to avoid that - just tilt your mirror down to see how close your tire gets to the curb. Many vehicles do that automatically when you switch into reverse.

I'm on the “Camaro Cardio” plan, long walks.

Anyway, more than once now I have parked in BFE and someone has parked right next to me, “BASTARDS”…

This is the reason I am NOT gonna use this car as my daily driver. You just cant do it. My Camaro isnt gonna even see a parking lot let alone park in between two cars owned by boneheads. Look at two camaros in 10 years, one used as a pleasure car and one used as a daily driver. You'll see a huge difference. The daily driver will have dings in the doors, scratches and missing paint from the bumper from people pulling in and out of parking spaces. No thanks. Im gonna baby my car when I get it.

I agree 100% 91RS! Mine is not a daily driver. I do drive into downtown on Friday's. I park in a parking garage on the lower level. There are a few spaces that are spaced farther away from each other. I dont care how far you park away from Target or Wal-Mart, some DI_k has to park next to you. I WILL NOT be making grocery runs in my Camaro. The Camaro is for cruising ONLY!!!!

Yeah, just park far away from everyone.

I wouldn't try taking up 2 parking spots (unless its cool at work). Because at most parking lots, you'll be asking for trouble.
I've seen the way some guys react to cars that are taking up more that one spot.

I'm in the Bronx but I have a garage/driveway...I advise you get those hideous mats that people have been using to cover their bumpers.Trust me, someone is going to park up on your bumper,to squeeze into that spot behind you, especially street parking....good luck.....

I parked next to a Camaro that was backed into two parking spots at the end of the parking lot at my work. Super far away, but it was a Camaro, so I had to back my Grand Prix in next to it for pictures. But I kept my distance, and if there is one thing that makes me cringe, it's people flinging doors open, even on older cars. Even with older cars, I tend to just park super far away from everyone because no one is respectful of anyone's property any more, it seems like.

I would try not to park it on the street if possible. Can you rent a spot in one of those storage places, they sometimes will let you keep cars there or do you have a friend with a garage, who would let you park it in thiers. It would suck for it to get scratches or dings from inconsiderate people or careless kids riding bikes.

I have to confess that my wife is a door dinger....trust me she's been called worse!!! In her defense, she is beautiful, she is a great mother, a wonderful wife......she is just dumb....yes she is blonde!!

I had very few worries about getting a ding on my door. Did not plan on taking my new baby to crowed parking lots and I have a driveway and a garage. I forgot about the wife.

Day #3 with our Camaro. We pull into the driveway and I stay far enough back from her car that is to my left so I have room to open my door. The wife, throws the passenger door open and lets go of it. SMACK!!! into the basketball pole. I just closed my eyes and lowered my head.
