Happens on my car close to 600rwhp.

Happen on my cam only spray car Aswell.

I think once you start spinning high or getting up in the rpm too fast. It throws the

I've thrown mine a few times while smacking the rev limiter. The design on these new camaro's suck. My Vette has never thrown the AC belt.
The first two shredded so they got tossed. The third just ripped up a plug and wires so it will get replaced also.

He is just over 640rwhp.

How irritating is that? I can hear Alex cussing now, lol! He mentioned it to me yesterday. Hope he gets it figured out. I will see if mine holds up with spray!

Do you have the OD pulley too? He is far from happy about it. I was considering it but not so much now.

I don't have one, I meant the ac belt. I do know someone here that had trouble with their IW balancer but cant remember what it was. I will try and find out.

My issue with the IW Crank pulley was similar. When we got it they had told us it didn't need to have the crank pinned. After a failure of the pulley itself they decided we should have pinned it. We have moved on but I would pin the pulley regardless of what anyone else says. Ultimately we melted the key.

He pinned the pulley. It looks like he may be moving on.

Hope this helps others save some $$$$ and headaches.

It's not the pulley underdrive, overdrive and even stock are known to toss belts.

Does he have the ac on when this happens? Is it hitting the rev limiter?

I beat on mine with the stock pulley and haven't tossed a belt yet. (Knocking on wood). This one has cost $300 in damages and add in the $550 spent on the "upgrade" it's more trouble so far then it's been worth. Which sucks because the extra boost from the pulley is what he was going for.

With the OD crank pulley and a 3.6" front pulley, he has 2.5 pounds more boost then I do with the 3.8" pulley.

Not hitting the rev limiter but I'm not sure about the AC being on or not. It's been in the 60's to high 50's so I don't think it has been on.

So far so good. My belt is still hanging in there. Been careful not to bump the revlimiter but have put some miles on it when weather permits. I'm in the high 600 rwhp range with 10 psi and 3.875 driven pulley. Really like this combo would hate to swap out balancer.

how much power does your car make?

I never had a problem cam only, but cam only and spray I did.

And since installing my ls7 it seems to like to throw belts..

But i guess it cant be completely because of power because stock cars can toss them too.

I've got 640 to the wheels on the same dyno my buddy was on. We are within 8wrhp of each other. The only difference in our build is the OD crank pulley, he has a 3.6 to my 3.8" blower pulley and I have a Spectre CAI and he has Fastlanes.

I'd love to know for sure it was driving style causing the belts to fly off, but others have had this issue also and there isn't a tensioner to hold it in place so it has to be one of the two pulleys causing the issue, and the one changed seems to make the most sense.
