Oh well the sound is great to me. Also the power gains are well worth it.

That shows the factory mufflers are way to restrictive for this engine. After speaking with some engineers at GM they stated these mufflers were indeed very restrictive by design. I will attach the Final dyno sheet as well. There is no drone on the interstate. Only thing I have noticed is a mild pop on deaccelaration which I love.
Thanks for the info!

tune

lean at zero throttle ? harleys are real lean from the factory and will pop and crackle when letting off the gas. with a good tuner if you add fuel from zero to 15 percent throttle it will tune right out. i watched the hotchins suspion video and you can hear it. sounds like epa lean to me and i would put my money on a good tune. when mine gets here thats my plan.

camaro ssrs2150,
Do you have a video or file of the sound? Would love to hear it. Glad to know you aren't hearing any crackling with the auto. Have you donr any other mods besides the muffler delete?

it sure seems like the ratio could be better... just sayin....

There must not be many Harley riders among the commentators in this thread....loud exhaust and popping due to jetting/fuel delivery is just part of the experience!!

BTW, no popping on my LS3 at all with the factory setup....will have to see if it "shows up" after removing the factory suitcases.

Did the delete today. Nice sound. Does cackle a lot. Butt dyno tells me I lost some bottom end. WTH???

Mines loud in the car 1-4. Ok in 5. And almost stock sound in 6 at 70mph.

The loss of bottom end concerns me though it doesn't realy make sense!
Have sound clips before/after but keep getting "invald type" when I try to post.

What am I paying close to $500 for? are they special tubes?

Better off having them cut the mufflers out and go with straight tubes to 4" tips no?
My personal opinion is get a cat-back with mufflers, an X-Pipe wouldn't hurt either. These engines need some back pressure unless you're making 800+ HP. My 525 RWHP 2nd Gen Camaro made less HP without mufflers. I'm now making 1046 RWHP and I'm still running through mufflers, I only use Magnaflow.

You do have the factory converters and resonator that will help with the BP but the sound quality isn't there for me.

I hope adding Long tubes, x-pipe and super 40's does the job. I don't really want to be the test guinea pig though. I hope someone tries that before I get my car in two months cause that's what I'm set on doing.
