This happens for the first few hundred miles on the LS3. Several others had it happen as did I. I'm sure you'll get your car back with a clean bill of health.

its probably oil not exhaust.. sometimes the two can be confused...

Our dealer had the same problem with 1 Camaro SS.

The only way we got rid of this smell was to change all the coolant hoses, thoroughly flush the rad, the engine, and the heater core with water, blow it all out, and then we filled and bleed the cooling system many times with royal purple premixed high performance engine coolant (can't remember what its called), and this took the problem away for this customer, and will most likely solve you problem also.

mine has smelled back since day 1. every time the hill assist activates and I take off cabin smells funny. not like clutch slipping or oil. very strange odor.
