I say manual.
If you want auto, go with a Mustang

My Camaro is a weekend car, so it is a manual. My daily driver is an auto.

Test drive each one to see which you like more. Here are some helpers though:

Auto: less power then ls3
best for city driving in stop and go traffic
great if you are a bracket racer at the strip

Manual: stronger then the l99
makes driving your car even more fun
you can get better MPG outta it if you know how to drive

AFAIK, isn't the auto faster 0-60?

The 13 L99's have a much better tune than previous year models (more power) and are much faster!

Actually on the V6 the auto is rated 1 MPG higher on the highway than the manual, LOL. I averaged 28 MPG last summer and topped out at just over 29 MPG on one of the tanks and I have a heavy foot which surprised me it did that well. Getting 2o to 21 MPG now with the frigid temps.

Dean.

If you're thinking about the manual just get it. You wont regret it.
And yet there are TONS of complaints about grind going from first to second gear at high RPM. Personally, I somewhat regret it because of this.

This is the only complaint I have and it's a MAJOR one. I've driven 6-speed Vette's for years and have never had this kind of 1st-2nd shift issue ever before.

And when it's cold out, I get random grind even at low RPM.

I drove 1400 km' back in 2010 just to get a manual as the other inventory around was only auto's. Manual in these type of cars is 80% of the fun imho.
