Thats what I have been thinking all along. Drop the ZL1, make an LT1 with 450 to 475 hp and call it a Z/28. This way I will have a reason to buy another Camaro.

Granted but in reality is a forged crank necessary or is it REALLY that much more expensive? The dry sump could be an extra cost option.

In reality though the more you make the cheaper it is per unit. The limited production of the LS7 added cost too.

There's a little bit more than an engine and transmission between an LT and an SS

Today, it has been announced, ahead of the intended NYIAS reveal, a special performance-enhancing option will be available at Start of Production for the 2014 Camaro SS. Those with a chemical background will know, from its Option Code, just what that performance enhancer is...

NO2 - Performance Enhancer. Available 1SS, 2SS, with or without 1LE

Orders for this exciting new option will be accepted shortly, for SOP this July."

That is all...
...so...is this for real, or a joke, or what?...lol

wheres Ofer on this!! lol. We got the ZL1 fascia months before the first ZL1 was built. we got 20 days before this one is debued. i think someone could at least try and get a schematic of new 2014 parts before the release instead of guessing what will be changed in this thread. I know there are some peoples on here with quite a few sources out there that could find out.

Can't wait to see what it looks like!

If it's typical like most refreshes...it probably won't be anything awfully substantial. But still - might be interesting to see what GM designers have in their heads for the look of Camaro.

Couldn't you call the interior changes for 2012 a refresh?

I suppose...but that might be a stretch to call it a refresh, imo...only a few small components were changed based on consumer input...

Steering wheel, dash insert, gauge needles and fonts, door lock controls. Rear view camera in the mirror on some models...oh passenger seat height adjustment... Yes all concerns brought up by owners, but still could be considered a refresh... Same as if they change grilles, or front or rear Fascias, tail lights, headlights, etc, all minor changes but does give a refreshening of the design.

Then why can't the Z/28 be bench marked against something other than the BOSS?
