Stop throwing parts at your poor cars! The right thing to do is to find a performance shop with a good reputation to get your car tuned in order to compensate for the exhaust. Without your computer being aware of the new parts, your car will not operate at its best, which is what you tried to do by putting new parts on the car.
For all of you who want to improve your performance, you need to buy all of your parts and have a tuner lined up before installation of any parts is done. If you have one part done at a time, your installation costs will go up, and you will never get the full-throttle performance boost that you really wanted. It is expensive to make a car faster than it already is, so you have to be prepared to spend a lot if you want any improvement. Cutting off your mufflers will not get you what you want. Slapping on a single exhaust is not enough either. If you are not already researching the prices and parts that you want for your car, start today. It takes a lot of work to make a fast car faster.

all of these mfg's keep posting gains "with no tune."
an exhaust and CAI should be doable without a tune and still gain a few HP/TQ #'s. lawdogg even posted gains fo 17hp from this mod on his car.... although i have not seen any torque #'s... thats what i get for assuming i guess! LOL for a "little coin" i wanted to give this a try... i am LOVING the sound and i know that the only thing that will duplicate that is another "muff delete" from magnaflow or slp but i am positive that the results in TQ would be no different (maybe that's why i have not seen dyno's for them published) i would consider the magnaflow street series and i believe i have seen that they claim +15HP and +18TQ (i think) but they are BETTER FLOWING mufflers than stock so WHY do they not loose TQ? maybe that with a little better flow you get better numbers nut with a lot better flow you get worse numbers??? :( anyhoo... i just wanted my car to sound like a muscle car (IMHO) and not like a caddy. but i'm not wild about loosing grunt to get the sound. ![]() i do not plan to tune my car... i am certain that it would void the 100K warranty.

Sometimes it takes these cars a little while to recalibrate after a small mod. They dont have the capability to change dramatically but the computer will adjust itself slightly which will help. Now im not saying this takes place of a tune, because it doesnt, I gained 43 hp on my ls6 after a tune. But you should loose top end on a muffler delete if anything not response or bottom end. But in all reality you shouldnt loose anything. A lot of times sound can really change your perception it may just seem slower. cai will help to free it up more, then if you get an extra $250 or so take it to a reputable shop and get her tuned and there's ya power...

you need back pressure - Just because it's loud doesn't mean you are making more power.
Sound is energy, I can't see the point of straight pipes...technology has shown that loud is not a telltale sign of power. Now IMHO it's a telltale sign of ignorance.

'thinking to myself' - I am going to see these "YAHOO's" on the camaro5 forum wonder why their car doesn't handle right anymore cause they cut the springs to make their car look "cool" and save some scratch.
Do some research - save your $ and do it right the first time.

I have run mine for over a month and seen dyno results with 17hp gain and 10lb torque gain. Just a stupid question is yours a ls3 or l99? Could make a huge difference. Everyone I know with the ls3 muffler delete is showing better performance and love the sound. Could be another issue entirely. Did you cut off the resonators or cats too? If not you should be right in line with the loudmouth 1 specs for backpressure. Of course a tune is always a good idea if you want max performance but get your mods done first so you dont have to keep doing tunes for max performance. I am at a mile high and the air is thin with no CAI yet and am not having any issues just compliments and better performance.

0-60mph times?
Better or worse? SOP doesn't tell all...

i did the delete because i wanted the sound... my car was already FAST but i wasnt afraid of LOOSING anything because others before me were not and had dyno proof. I'm gonna play with "dynolicious" on my phone and try to make a run up to ADM's dyno to at least see if I am above or below the average (since I didn't get a baseline) dynois 1.5 hrs away i mean if noweeds can put dumps/diverters on and gain... why should deletes loose? i agree that sound definately changes perception... but i would think that it would make it feel faster!
