Hahaha, now that you mention it...!!

And guys, you ever notice how the LS3 guys NEVER make posts like this??!!

But all in all, it is a cultural thing. American culture is huge V8 engines with manual transmissions. That combination will always elicit a different reaction and garner more respect.

I never understood why I would take more pleasure into doing more work when driving.

no car is "THE" man car. unless Playboy starts manufacturing automobiles and all service departments are 100% staffed by grade A broads that serve drinks and bring you sandwiches on skates, coupled with lifetime free maintenance and service with the technician of your choice. then, and only then will you have a MAN's car.

as an added bonus, they'll have a thumbtack taped to the lower portion of the back of each thigh to remind them that proper body mechanics is needed to do the mandatory rocker panel scrub and wax with every visit. just picture it

Well I am a female and I also get the same treatment from people.Like Oh You are a female and you drive a standard, wow. I don't know how people think but to me a person is a person it does not matter if you are male or female.
I am a proud owner of 2 fast standard shift camaros 2002 SS and a ZL1.

People will nitpick the smallest thing about these cars because they're jealous. It's really that simple.

Oh is it a v8? no?! HAHA! *Goes and buys bus tickets*

Oh is it a V8?? YES?! WELL IS IT AUTOMATIC?!?! Yes!!! HAHA!!! * Jumps back in junkyard civic*

People these days.

their brains just cant fathom people having nice things.

I think it goes back to the day when the stick was a full second and a half faster in the quarter. A four speed Muncie with 3:90s and a 396 was much more fun than an auto. Tech is different now. I feel that my stick ls is more fun to drive than an auto, plus limited slip and the stick is easier in the snow. Bt the people that give you a hard time don't even have a sports car.

just a correction and f y i.. supercars like ferrari, lambo and F1 cars are not automatics.. they are "automated manuals" they are stick shifts without the stick, just paddles.

Man Up. j/k.

I have never driven a stick before March of this year and I can deal with traffic fine.
