Anyone know details on back in 01 when GM ran out of LS1 blocks for the 4th gen and put LS6 blocks in place of them?

Maybe this will happen with our 7/13 TPW, corvette M6 FTW!

And if it is a Long Constraint GM is Screwed because alot of the orders were Manauls!!! And also if its a long constraint some people may just cancel there orders!! so we will see what happens!

1. It's still unconfirmed.
2. Its a "tired and true" part used in other cars including non-GM cars. This would make it Tremec's issue and not directly GMs.
3. For those who've had the issue, GM overnighted the replacement part to their dealer with no charge to the customer. Got them back on the road in a day or two.
Why would it be Tremec's issue?? When it is the GM designers that have to test and choose to use the Tremec design for it to be a supplier.. GM tested the car thoroughly and did not discover this issue.. The only way it is a Tremec issue would be if it is a design flaw after the fact, meaning the quality of the Tremec final production product is not the same as it was in the test vehicles.. Then I would call it their problem for not sending the promised to parts..

uhhhh........so a Tremec/LS3 in a Vette isn't a proven combo because the bellhousing and part # is different in the Camaro?

it's not the bellhousing that's rumored to be breaking. and nobody mentioned anything what-so-ever about the IRS........

how's barking em' in all gears at 5900rpm and no lift shifting with no issues for proven?

Yep! I just wish we knew 100% if they will just constrain the Tremec or also the Aisin. Don't want to wait till Thursday!! I was just about to leave 1100 and this will kill me if it's both trannys but I know there are SS guys been waiting a lot longer...

I ordered in october. My delivery date was June 25th, the same day it got pulled for QC. So sick of this sh*$. A shelby gt500 or used vette is looking tempting right now. GM has to get there sh!$ figured out this is terrible. 3 years we waiting for this car since it was a concept. They have thousands and thousands of orders for M6 cars and they can't even build them. Absolutely ridiculous. I almost wanna say "screw you gm".

relax fellow worry-warts

GM has the good tranny's in stock as evidenced by the quick turnaround time on fixing at least 3 broken M6 recently and the owners have reported the replacement new trannys seem to be holding up well. The problem seems to be the inadequately hardened output shaft breaking during hard launches or soon after.

One would think that if GM has good M6 trannys in stock and they have known about this before the shut-down, then the M6 cars on schedule for production this week and on will have good M6 in them. wishing thinking :(

I ordered from Classic Sugarland,TX on 6/30/09 because they had several allocations left...
I have my workbench order NMGDQV but I think that is as far as it has gone because of the GM shutdown last week and now this hold on M6 orders...
So my ? is does this mean they will send thru auto orders, and lessen the number of allocations for the classic sugarland dealer? just wondering how all this works...I have never ordered a car before.
