You see, thats my point. There's no way GM didn't test the hell out of Launch Control before putting out on the market with the Vett and Camaro. It has to be a flaw after the fact or even just defective parts.

So my ? is does this mean they will send thru auto orders, and lessen the number of allocations for the classic sugarland dealer? just wondering how all this works...I have never ordered a car before.

I don't know about lessening their allocations; I doubt that as its linked to sales, but yes the M6 would get passed over for autos also at 1100 until constraint is lifted.

All Auto cars will be unafected by this. And they can't change allocation. But if a dealer fills it's remaining allocations with M6 cars then it will likely take longer to fill that order due to the QC hold/Constraint.

Make sense?

Stay tuned for the "official" announcement from GM.....until then, lets all chill instead of speculating. It doesn't pay to guess or believe third party sources.

The problem seems to be the inadequately hardened output shaft breaking during hard launches or soon after.

One would think that if GM has good M6 trannys in stock and they have known about this before the shut-down, then the M6 cars on schedule for production this week and on will have good M6 in them. wishing thinking :(
I love your wishful thinking!

Are they REALLY installing V2 tranny's or just another of the same to get them rolling again?

Crap

I just got news that the 2ss/rs M6 I ordered on 6/29/09 is still at 1100. I'm guessing this is the culprit and the outlook is not good.

I understand the auto's are not affected....I ordered a M6...I guess what I'm asking is if the dealer had 20 allocations left but 30 actual orders could the auto's bump us M6 guys to the point where they fill the rest of their allocations w/ auto cars?

I ordered from Classic Sugarland on the same day!! Was hoping today that it would have moved, but now that all this has happened it may be a while. Oh well, more time for savings on a down payment. Lowers those mothly payments just a little more.

ok here is what I got from my dealer, my car got delivered to him but GM wont let him release it to me until this has been completed, here is the exact words in his email (this is from Rick Hendrick Chevy usually "in the know" from gm)

"The recall is in the shifter assembly.. I think the fix is a whole new assembly???. No damage.. just no releases until it's fixed .. and recalls on all others in production and post production!"

im not the know all so take that for what its worth, but its the reason my car isnt at my house right now because the dealer cant release it (they just got it in) hope that provides some insite

I don't believe they can do that. Our cars have already been ordered. Basically it just means we wait until GM picks them up. But as far as this is concerned, our cars are ordered and waiting to get accepted by GM.

What about cars built prior to shutdown, I had a TPW of 6-15. Are these cars going to be recalled.

It's not a "Shortage" as some thought to have predicted.... "Shame on YOU!"

But again, lets wait for the official announcement from the only source, GM.
